Sentimental Value star Renate Reinsve reveals she got ‘so drunk’ at the Golden Globes and had to stop her sister from randomly touching Leonardo DiCaprio as she recalls their hilarious red carpet outing

At the Golden Globes, actress Renate Reinsve playfully stopped her sister from unexpectedly approaching and touching Leonardo DiCaprio.

The 38-year-old Norwegian actress shared that she had a bit too much to drink at the Golden Globes. She was remembering her funny red carpet experience from last month, when she attended the ceremony with her sister.

The couple had a great time at the event, mingling with famous actors and enjoying the drinks a little too much.

Renate’s sister, whose name isn’t mentioned, lives in a remote part of Norway and was incredibly surprised to meet the actor from Titanic.

According to Renate, who starred as Nora Borg in the acclaimed Norwegian film, Leonardo DiCaprio accidentally stepped on her sister’s dress, then politely apologized and smiled.

She lived far out in the Norwegian countryside and had never experienced anything like this before. She felt a strong urge to touch him, and I had to quickly step in and tell them both to calm down and back away.

When asked if the incident spoiled the evening, Renate quickly replied that they had a wonderful time and got quite tipsy.

At the BAFTAs on Sunday, Renate had to apologize after accidentally stepping on another celebrity’s dress.

While media were interviewing 28-year-old Mia McKenna-Bruce, a former star of CBBC, Renate accidentally stepped on her dress on the red carpet at the BAFTAs.

She unintentionally stood on the train of Mia’s embellished black dress but quickly apologised.

Turning around, Mia said: ‘No, you’re fine, it’s fine. It takes up a lot of space.’ 

‘You look great,’ Renate said as she smiled and made her way through the crowd. 

I was really rooting for Renate to win Leading Actress for her amazing performance in Sentimental Value, but Jessie Buckley absolutely deserved the award for Hamnet. She was incredible!

Jessie expressed how honored she was, saying it was a dream come true. She shared that as a child, she never imagined she’d have the opportunity to make a film, but now she was living that dream.

I met with my agent, Lindy King, in London, looking quite a mess – I had a terrible fake tan, large white hoop earrings, and a red polka dot skirt and top. Despite my appearance, I actually told her I hoped to become an actress like Judi Dench.

I honestly can’t believe she thought that could happen. Thanks to Lindy, I’ve always been encouraged to be curious, take risks, and embrace my humanity.

This achievement is truly thanks to the women who have guided me, and continue to show me new ways of doing things.

One Battle After Another dominated the BAFTAs, earning a record-breaking 14 nominations and ultimately winning six awards, including Best Film, Best Director, Adapted Screenplay, a prize for its supporting actor, and awards for both Cinematography and Editing.

When the film won Best Picture, producer Sarah Murphy shared that they wished their partner, Adam Somner, could have been there to accept the award, as he’s from their hometown.

Paul Thomas Anderson, the director and producer, expressed his gratitude, saying it was a tremendous honor to receive such recognition for their film.

Look, I know other movies come out, but honestly, anyone who dares say movies are dying needs to seriously reconsider. This year? This year is incredible! It’s just… a genuinely fantastic year for film, and I’m completely obsessed. Seriously, it’s amazing!

He added that he planned to go and find a ‘bar somewhere to go celebrate.’

The movie follows a former revolutionary (Leonardo DiCaprio) who is pulled back into a dangerous life when a corrupt military officer (Sean Penn) begins chasing him and his daughter.

Following several victories, One Battle Or Another emerged as the biggest winner with six awards. Sinners, Frankenstein, and I Swear each received three awards, and Hamnet won two.

The night’s biggest disappointment was the ping pong drama Marty Supreme. Despite being a frontrunner with 11 nominations, the show didn’t win any awards.

Although many expected Timothée to win for his performance in Marty Supreme, Robert Aramayo, known for I Swear, ultimately received the award.
