I’m so excited to hear that the Robin Hood show on MGM+ is coming back for another season! I really enjoyed it when it first came out in November 2025 – it was trending all over the UK, and apparently, it’s become one of MGM+’s most popular shows ever, which is amazing. Plus, Sean Bean was brilliant as the Sheriff of Nottingham, so I can’t wait to see what happens next!
The announcement of a new take on the Robin Hood story emphasized that this version will update the classic tale with a modern feel. It will focus on the legendary outlaw who steals from the wealthy to help the poor, as well as the exciting love story between him and the brave Marian.
This film is a clever and grand romantic adventure that feels historically accurate and delves into the characters’ emotions, particularly the connection between Rob and Marian. It breathes fresh life into a classic tale.

Joining the main cast alongside Bean were Jack Patten, playing Rob, and Lauren McQueen as Marian. Season one also featured Lydia Peckham, Connie Nielsen, and Steven Waddington. The cast for season two will be announced shortly.

More information about the second season of Robin Hood has been revealed. It will take the story beyond its familiar settings of Sherwood and Nottingham, venturing into the royal courts of England, France, and Rome. This will escalate the conflict from a local uprising into a major power struggle with the fate of the kingdom at stake.
Because of this, Rob and Marian will find themselves caught up in the world of royalty, and will have to use the same methods as the Normans – including political maneuvering, wealth, and deception – if they want to ensure a future for the Saxon people.
The new season starts as a desperate struggle to live, but quickly evolves into a story about the nature of power. It’s an epic tale filled with both grand events and personal feelings, expanding on the existing love stories, intensifying conflicts, and presenting a reimagined version of the classic story as a high-quality drama exploring themes of love, what we leave behind, and the sacrifices required to achieve lasting fame.
Michael Wright, who leads MGM+, also said they’re excited to renew the show for another season. He praised the creative team—including John Glenn and Jonathan English—for brilliantly retelling this classic story with impressive detail and realism, and expressed anticipation for what they’ll create in the future.
The new series Robin Hood will launch in the US and be available to MGM+ subscribers in the UK, Italy, Germany, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Production for the second season is planned to begin this summer, but a specific release date hasn’t been announced yet.
