Super Bowl LX is likely to feature trailers for several new movies. Several Hollywood studios are planning to share new previews during the game, including both sequels to popular franchises and completely original films. However, this information hasn’t been officially confirmed yet.
All new trailers and spots expected to debut at Super Bowl LX
I’m already getting excited for the Super Bowl, and it’s not just for the game! It sounds like the movie studios are planning a huge marketing blitz during the broadcast. Even though a 30-second commercial is going to cost around $10 million – way up from last year’s $7.5 to $8 million – they’re clearly willing to pay to reach the expected 128+ million viewers. It’s going to be a big night for movie trailers, that’s for sure!
During the Super Bowl, Paramount plans to release new video clips and promote its upcoming film, Scream 7, which hits theaters later this month. The studio has successfully used the Super Bowl for marketing in the past, notably with a campaign for Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One. (Source: Deadline)
Disney will likely have a big presence, potentially showcasing characters from Pixar’s Hoppers, Lucasfilm’s The Mandalorian and Grogu, and even a preview of Pixar’s Toy Story 5. Surprisingly, Marvel isn’t planning to advertise any games this year, even with big releases like Avengers Doomsday and Spider-Man Brand New Day coming out. Also, Dwayne Johnson isn’t expected to feature his live-action Moana movie in any Super Bowl commercials.
As a huge movie fan, I’m really excited to hear what Universal is bringing to the trailers soon! I’m especially looking forward to seeing more of ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie’ – Illumination always does a great job with those characters. Plus, they’ll be showing off the new ‘Minions’ movie too. And get this – Steven Spielberg has a sci-fi film, ‘Disclosure Day,’ coming out this summer, and we’ll probably get a first look at that during the presentations. It sounds like a fantastic lineup!
Okay, so Lionsgate is apparently going back to the Super Bowl for advertising, and this time they’re promoting their Michael Jackson biopic, ‘Michael.’ It’s not their first rodeo – I remember they’ve used the big game to launch trailers for ‘The Hunger Games’ and even ‘Gods of Egypt’ in the past. Seems like they see the Super Bowl as a key spot to get people talking about their films.
Many major movie studios likely won’t be advertising during this year’s game. Netflix, Apple Original Films, Sony, and Warner Bros. are reportedly choosing to release their trailers online instead, closer to the event’s start.
