Musk posted on X (formerly Twitter) that Nolan had “lost his integrity” after someone claimed that rumors of Lupita Nyong’o being cast as Helen of Troy were disrespectful to the original author, Homer. The complaint stemmed from the fact that Helen is described as having fair skin and blonde hair in Homer’s poem.

Rumors started circulating that Lupita Nyong’o would play Helen in the upcoming movie based on Homer’s The Odyssey, which prompted a comment from Elon Musk. While the production hasn’t confirmed her role, the talk began when Nyong’o was announced as part of the cast in November 2024. Matt Damon will be playing Odysseus in the film.
