Scream 7 Super Bowl Trailer: Stu Macher Returns After 30 Years

The latest trailer for Scream 7, released by Paramount Pictures on Monday, features the return of Stu Macher – though only his voice. To celebrate the movie hitting theaters on February 27th, a special fan event screening will be held on February 26th.

The trailer for Scream 7 reveals a chilling new chapter. While Sidney Prescott seems to have found peace, a new Ghostface appears and begins terrorizing her daughter, Isabel May, who is now the same age Sidney was when the original Ghostface killings began.

The trailer for Scream 7 concludes with Sidney hearing a chillingly familiar voice promise, “This is gonna be fun.”

Stu, a character from the original Scream movie in 1996, hasn’t appeared in the series since. Now, with the upcoming Scream 7 marking the 30th anniversary of the franchise, Matthew Lillard is returning to reprise his role, even though his character was believed to be dead.

I was thrilled to hear I’d be back in Scream 7. I am a little concerned about how fans will react – whether they’ll understand my return or think it’s forced, or even dislike my work. But ultimately, you do your best with the script and trust the director. After that, it’s out of your control, and you just have to accept whatever the final result is.
