Sarah Michelle Gellar, best known for playing Buffy the Vampire Slayer, has responded to the news that Netflix is rebooting Scooby-Doo and has cast a new actress to play Daphne.
According to Variety, Mckenna Grace of The Handmaid’s Tale will play a character in the new Netflix series exploring the beginnings of the Scooby-Doo gang. Sarah Michelle Gellar, who famously portrayed Daphne in the early 2000s Scooby-Doo films, has shared her enthusiastic support for the project.
So, I saw on Instagram that Sarah Michelle Gellar posted a message saying, “You are going to be perfect!!” It’s pretty cool to see her sharing something so encouraging!
What to Read Next
Mckenna Grace announced she’d been cast in a new role on Instagram, expressing how thrilled she was. She wrote, “Oh my jeepers!” with a heart emoji, adding that she was incredibly grateful and excited, and almost cried when she saw the announcement.
The actress previously voiced the character Daphne in the 2020 animated film Scoob!. Now, she’s part of a new live-action series on Netflix. Created by Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg, the eight-episode show will tell the story of how the group of mystery-solving friends first met and teamed up.

As hinted in the story summary, the new installment will feature Shaggy and Daphne investigating a spooky mystery. They’ll become involved in a case centered around a lost Great Dane puppy who may have seen something supernatural – possibly even a murder.
Along with Velma, a practical and intelligent local, and Freddy, a mysterious but attractive new student, they began investigating a disturbing case that was drawing them all into a frightening situation and risked revealing their hidden pasts.

Sarah Michelle Gellar is currently a judge on the Netflix talent show, Star Search.
Everyone is also excited about the new Buffy series. Sarah Michelle Gellar has explained it won’t be a sequel or a remake, but rather a continuation of the original story. She’ll return as Buffy Summers, and Ryan Kiera Armstrong will play a new Slayer.

Okay, awesome news for horror fans! I just heard that Gellar is joining the cast of Ready or Not 2: Here I Come – the sequel to that crazy fun Ready or Not from 2019. And even better, Samara Weaving is coming back as Grace! I’m so hyped for this one.
Directors Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin have praised the cast of their movie, saying they were thrilled with each actor’s unique contribution. They believe the cast created characters that are scary, funny, and wonderfully strange.
Seeing Samara reprise her role and wear that dress again was a particularly meaningful moment for us.
The latest issue of Living Legends, a vibrant, full-colour magazine celebrating Taylor Swift, is now available! You can find it in newsagents or order it online for only £8.99.
