Sandi Toksvig opens up on officiating Björn Ulvaeus’ wedding to Christina Sas in Copenhagen and reveals which of his ABBA bandmates attended

The comedian, who is 66 years old, developed friendship with the 79-year-old Swedish singer in 2015 following her arrangement of a Scandinavian-themed Women of the World festival. This event provided an opportunity for Björn to perform Waterloo alongside her.
In 2018, the duo teamed up for the hit interactive show, “Mamma Mia: The Party!”. Later that year, Bjorn invited Sandi to officiate his wedding to Christina Sas, who was 51 years old at the time.
During an interview with The Sunday Times, Sandi shared details about their private event, mentioning that Benny Andersson, a fellow member of Björn’s ABBA band, was present as well.
Speaking highly of Björn, she mentioned that he’s incredibly kind and not at all high-maintenance. What’s more, they share the common belief of being humanitarians.
In a simple and conversational manner: ‘My new bride, Christina, is Danish. During our ceremony, I managed to use a mix of Danish, Swedish, and English.’
Initially, the presenter entertained with a light-hearted segment. Later, donning a red robe, they delivered a straightforward pledge as the couple exchanged their vows and wedding rings.
‘There were about 130 guests. Benny played the piano — not Abba tunes.’
When questioned about whether Agnetha Fältskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad, the other two members of ABBA, were there, Sandi responded negatively.

The wedding was held in Copenhagen, surrounded by loved ones like friends and relatives. Kindly offering their talents were Sandi Toksvig, Anne Linnet, and Kaya Brüel, making the event even more memorable.
During their debut as a couple at an event in June 2022, Björn and Christina shared with journalists: ‘We’ve been dating for some time now, and I felt it was the right moment to bring her to this occasion. Therefore, this is our first public outing together.’
The pair crossed paths when Christina was employed by the Universal record label that put out ABBA’s 2021 album “Voyage” in Germany.
In the subsequent year, he declared that his 41-year union with his second spouse, music journalist Lena Kallersjo (aged 75), had ended.
In February 2022, Björn and Lena – parents of Emma, aged 42, and Anna, aged 38 – announced their separation in a mutual statement. They decided to divide their estimated £100 million fortune evenly between them.
Bjorn once had a well-known marriage with his bandmate Agneta, whom he met when she was only 19. At that time, Bjorn was already a member of a widely recognized folk group, and he was five years older than her.
In 1971, a year prior to the formation of Abba, and two years after their union, Linda (age 49) and Peter (age 44) had a joint victory. However, their partnership ended in 1979.
Initially, Björn and Agnetha characterized their separation as an amicable divorce, yet subsequently, Agnetha admitted to feeling emotionally hurt and sought counseling for her feelings of distress.
