Rosie O’Donnell breaks her silence after daughter’s arrest for child neglect and drug possession

On Saturday, the well-known media figure (who recently celebrated her son’s wedding in August) shared an Instagram post featuring Chelsea, aged 27, and her grandson Atlas, who is only one year old.
It was reported that the oldest child of O’Donnell was taken into custody for alleged child negligence, following an incident where authorities discovered her 11-month-old son living in a house filled with drug paraphernalia (meth pipes), filth (feces and trash).
In her post’s title for her followers, she expressed, “Chelsea made headlines today. Here’s a picture reminiscent of a happier era – below is the family’s comment:
Regrettably, our family has faced this situation before – Chelsea has battled drug addiction for ten years now. However, we remain optimistic that she can conquer this life-threatening illness and find her path to recovery.

It’s been reported that Chelsea is facing four serious criminal charges, including running a drug trafficking operation, negligence in child care, holding methamphetamine, and possessing tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).
On September 10th, police were summoned to a residence in Marinette, Wisconsin, as Chelsea herself had requested their presence. This information was disclosed from court records obtained by In Touch magazine.
According to the 911 dispatcher, there seemed to be an argument occurring in the background, with a woman demanding someone to stay clear of her.
Upon the arrival of the police, it seems that Chelsea initially attempted to minimize the situation, claiming everything was under control. However, at a later time, she confessed that she and her boyfriend, Jacob Nelund, had been involved in an altercation.
The officer noted in his report, ‘I probed further with additional questions, yet it was evident that Chelsea was untruthful in every response. This situation mirrored an event from a few weeks back when we encountered a similar issue at her residence.’
Among the items in her home, officers found a meth pipe with residue inside.
A box of hypodermic needles was allegedly found in the child’s room.
O’Donnell has had a tumultuous relationship with Chelsea throughout the years.
Originally, they (the person you’re referring to and Kelli Carpenter) took in Chelsea as a newborn. Later on, when she was eighteen years old in the year 2016, she decided to depart from their shared home. She relocated to Wisconsin for the purpose of being near her biological mother.
In 2017, Rosie shared with the Daily Mail that Chelsea has struggled significantly with mental illness throughout her life. She’s spent much of it in hospitals due to her condition. Born with an addiction to heroin, she’s faced numerous hardships. Her state is dire, and she lacks both the capacity for truthfulness and rational thinking.
She has four children: daughter Skylar Rose, five, Riley, three, Avery Lynn, two, and Atlas.
