Rosanna Arquette has spoken out about the bashing of Timothee Chalamet.
The 66-year-old actress told Us Weekly she believes it wasn’t right to criticize him for his opinions on ballet and opera.
‘This guy is, like, the most amazing actor [with] an incredible performance.
He stated his intention was not to cause offense or damage to opera or ballet in any way.
It’s understandable why he acted the way he did, but others really blew things out of proportion, and it’s disappointing to see. This situation highlights how important it is for everyone to be careful about what they say publicly, whether in the news or online. I, for one, have definitely learned that lesson the hard way.
Earlier this month, Quentin Tarantino responded to criticism regarding his use of a racial slur in the screenplay for Pulp Fiction.
Patricia Arquette spent her childhood living on a commune before beginning her acting career as a child in the 1970s, appearing in television shows such as Zuma Beach and Eight Is Enough.
She became well-known in the 1980s for her roles in films like Down and Out in Beverly Hills, Jumpin’ at the Boneyard, and Jack Be Nimble.
Her career took off when she worked with Madonna on the fun 1985 hit Desperately Seeking Susan.
Arquette appeared in the films Hope Floats alongside Sandra Bullock in 1998, and The Whole Nine Yards with Matthew Perry in 2000.
She’s part of a family known for acting – her brother is David Arquette, famous for his role in Scream, and her sister is Academy Award winner Patricia Arquette.
Todd Morgan’s ex-wife shared that she sympathizes with Timothée Chalamet, as she experienced a comparable situation when she was younger.
She explained that she realized this through personal experience, and receiving such overwhelmingly positive feedback early on was amazing.
The star also said: ‘They build you up to rip you to shreds.’
And she wants to help others who are suffering in the same way.
She explained that she feels strongly about looking out for young people starting careers in this industry, including her own daughter and niece.
Arquette shares daughter Zoe Bleu with ex John Sidel.
The problem stems from unfortunate male behavior, she said.
The actor pointed out that sexism remains a significant problem, even after the #MeToo movement gained prominence. Recent revelations from the Epstein files, they said, unfortunately demonstrate this is still true.
Things have actually declined in many parts of the entertainment industry, and really, in business overall.
