Romesh Ranganathan’s astonishing weekly earnings revealed after string of lucrative TV shows and a West End debut

Romesh Ranganathan made a staggering £2million last year, latest accounts show.

The comedian, formerly a maths teacher, is now earning between £40,000 and £50,000 each week. This success comes from a series of popular TV appearances and his recent stage debut in London’s West End.

Recent financial reports reveal that comedian Jason Manford’s company, Vetty Limited, doubled its reserves in a year, increasing from £2.5 million to £4.5 million.

Vetty Limited generated £5.4 million in revenue. After distributing funds to investors, Romesh had £4,574,114 remaining in the company’s account.

Romesh Ranganathan co-owns the production company Ranga Bee with director Ben Green, and it currently has £468,000 saved.

This comedian has appeared on several TV shows, most recently as a featured performer in the second season of Amazon Prime’s ‘Last One Laughing’.

Romesh is also the presenter of The Weakest Link and has a BBC Radio 2 show and tour dates.

As someone who’s always on the go, I recently created a travel series called Can’t Knock The Hustle. It basically follows my 2024 world tour, but with a fun twist – we’re using it to verify everything I talk about on stage! It’s a four-part look behind the scenes, and a way to prove I actually do visit the places I joke about.

Last year, Romesh made his first appearance on a West End stage, playing the role of Bill in Alan Ayckbourn’s play, Woman in Mind, alongside Sheridan Smith.

Daily Mail has contacted Romesh’s representative for comment.

Even though he became a very popular TV personality, the comedian avoided living in typical celebrity hotspots and decided to build a large family home with six bedrooms in his hometown of West Sussex instead.

In 2022, the BBC presenter purchased a £3 million house, located just five miles from the more modest home where he was raised.

This is a world away from the modest home where he spent his childhood with his parents, Shanthi and Ranga, who came from Sri Lanka, and his brother, Dinesh.

According to a source, Romesh Ranganathan chose to remain in his hometown despite having the means to live somewhere more luxurious. He decided to stay close to his family – his mother and brother – and in a place he genuinely loves.

Romesh has achieved his dream of building a new home, a significant step up from the one he grew up in. It’s a heartwarming story of success earned through years of hard work.

The comedian, now hosting The Weakest Link after taking over from Anne Robinson, has often discussed his difficult childhood. He’s shared how his family struggled when their house was taken away from them after his father, an accountant, was imprisoned for two years due to fraud.

He remembered when his family had to stay in a bed-and-breakfast while they waited for the council to find them a new home, and explained that everything happened very fast. It was a difficult time for them.

My mother discovered my father was having an affair. He also got into serious financial trouble, and as a result, we lost our home.

We expected to be housed in a council flat, but there weren’t any available, so we ended up staying in a bed-and-breakfast for eighteen months. On top of that, my dad was in prison, which made everything incredibly difficult.
