Rolex Officially Discontinues the “Pepsi” GMT-Master II and “Cookie Monster” Submariner Date

Summary

  • Rolex officially removed all versions of the “Pepsi” GMT-Master II and the white gold “Cookie Monster” Submariner Date from its active catalog
  • The sweeping discontinuation affects the stainless steel ref. 126710BLRO and the white gold ref. 126719BLRO, along with the Submariner ref. 126619LB
  • Catalog changes were confirmed during the Watches and Wonders 2026 trade show, coinciding with the historic 100th-anniversary celebration of the brand’s Oyster case

For years, rumors circulated about problems making the red and blue Cerachrom bezel, and now Rolex has discontinued the iconic “Pepsi” GMT-Master II after 12 years. This leaves only three bezel options for the stainless steel model: the blue and black “Batman,” the grey and black “Bruce Wayne,” and the green and black “Sprite” (designed for left-handed wearers). The discontinuation also means the end of the white gold versions with rare meteorite or blue lacquer dials, which were already very hard to find in stores.

In addition to changes with the GMT-Master II, the white gold “Cookie Monster” Submariner Date has been discontinued without a similar model being introduced. This dive watch, known for its bright blue bezel and black face, first appeared in 2020, replacing the popular “Smurf” edition. Following the announcement at a recent trade show, prices for the steel Pepsi models jumped significantly. Collectors are now rushing to buy up remaining watches, understanding that this iconic design from the Swiss manufacturer is becoming increasingly rare.
