Robert De Niro is starring in a popular streaming series, finding success eleven years after his previous film didn’t do well in theaters. Hollywood often sees actors come and go, with new faces constantly appearing. But some established stars, like De Niro, continue to connect with audiences across different generations.
Robert De Niro is a legendary actor, famous for his roles in many classic crime thrillers. While he’s also excelled in comedies and other genres, he’s particularly known for his intense, realistic performances. This 2015 thriller, though not his most well-known gangster film, is quickly gaining popularity.
According to FlixPatrol, Robert De Niro’s Heist is currently the 7th most popular movie on Paramount+ globally. It’s performing better than films like Jack Quaid’s Novocaine and Tom Cruise’s Jack Reacher: Never Go Back. The top five movies on the streaming service right now are Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, The Naked Gun, World War Z, Night Hunter, and South Park: The End Of Obesity.
The movie Heist came out in theaters on November 13, 2015. While Robert De Niro’s crime thriller cost $8.9 million to make, it needed to earn between $17.8 and $22.3 million worldwide to cover its costs. Unfortunately, it only brought in $3.3 million, making it a major box office failure.
After 11 years, the movie Heist is finding a new audience thanks to streaming, which is great news for this De Niro crime thriller. While it’s not currently the most popular movie on Paramount+ in any one country, Heist is gaining traction in 17 countries worldwide. In fact, it’s reached the top 5 in seven countries, including Chile and Peru.
Currently, you can’t watch Heist on Paramount+ in the US. However, the crime thriller starring Robert De Niro is available to stream on The Roku Channel nationwide. Heist follows Luke Vaughn, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, as he attempts a casino robbery to raise $300,000 for his daughter’s medical bills. The casino is owned by Francis “The Pope” Silva, De Niro’s character.
Critics didn’t like the movie Heist – it only has a 30% score on Rotten Tomatoes – and it didn’t do well in cinemas. But the film is becoming popular again on streaming services, which means more people are discovering it and enjoying it. This follows a similar comeback for The Alto Knights, making it a good run for Robert De Niro.
