REVIEW: “Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice” (2026)

The new film, “Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice,” lives up to its quirky title, delivering a delightfully unpredictable and genre-bending experience. Created by writer-director BenDavid Grabinski, it’s a consistently fun mix of action, comedy, crime, and even a bit of science fiction. What truly stands out, though, is the film’s surprising warmth and charm, turning what could have been just a silly story into something genuinely endearing.

The movie is energetic, creative, and has a lot of charm, but what really makes it work is the fantastic connection between the two main actors. James Marsden, Eiza González, and Vince Vaughn – especially Vince Vaughn – have great chemistry, delivering plenty of laughs and genuinely touching moments. The plot gets a bit tangled at times, but the director always keeps the film grounded and in control, even when things get wild.

I’m really excited about this new movie! It’s about Nick, a tough guy who collects debts, and his buddy Mike, who’s the muscle. They both work for this mob boss, Sosa – Keith David is hilarious in the role! – who’s throwing a huge party for his son Jimmy, who just got out of prison. It seems like a fun night, but Sosa makes it clear he knows who betrayed Jimmy and they’re going to pay. It’s a wild setup, and I can’t wait to see how it all plays out!

Sosa’s sudden warning shocks everyone at the party, causing Mike and Nick to leave early. Mike and Nick are a fun duo, and the actors Vaughn and Marsden play them with a lot of charm. However, a hidden secret threatens to ruin their friendship. The secret is that Mike is having an affair with Nick’s wife, Alice, who feels neglected by her husband.

Mike and Alice planned to run away together, but their escape is interrupted when Nick arrives at Mike’s apartment needing assistance with a job. Mike is immediately worried he’s in trouble, fearing Nick intends to harm him. However, Nick surprisingly asks Mike to help kidnap a man… who turns out to be Nick himself! It’s a confusing situation, and you might be wondering what another character, Grabinski, has to do with all of this.

A future version of Nick travels to the present to prevent a life-altering mistake. This involves his friends Mike and Alice, and he’ll need their help to succeed. The story also reveals how time travel comes into play: Alice’s friend, Symon, secretly builds a time machine using money from questionable sources. This subplot, while unexpected, provides some much-needed humor.

Honestly, “Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice” just feels… fun. It throws a ton at you – genuinely funny moments, exciting action, some wonderfully bizarre characters, a fantastic soundtrack, and even a little bit of sweetness. Logically, it shouldn’t all work together, but it mostly does. The cast is incredible, the story is wildly imaginative, and it’s got this playful energy that’s totally infectious. I really enjoyed it! You can stream it on Hulu right now.
