Upon reaching Emerald Stair in Avowed, you’ll find yourself assisting characters all around as the area is heavily affected by the Dreamscourge. Sielo Piannini, a farmer, is in dire straits due to his wife’s illness and the recent theft of his crops by Paradisan rebels. You are needed to lend him a hand.

In the Food Theft mission within the game “Avowed”, you’ll encounter one of the Paradisan rebel captains. Previous decisions you’ve made might resurface, potentially causing trouble. The climax will present the Envoy with several options, and careful consideration is crucial to ensure satisfaction from both factions if that’s your goal.

How To Trigger Food Theft Quest In Avowed

As you venture north of Fior mes Iverno, you’ll stumble upon a fast-travel point and nearby resides Sielo Piannini. A chat with him unveils that some rebels have swiped his crops, leading to the Food Theft side quest. Should players engage in further conversation, he shares his wife is ill and urgently needs Rose Draught.

Make your way to Riverside Cave, guided by the quest marker. Once inside, you’ll encounter various friendly rebels. Push further in and Iglaf will issue a warning, regardless of whether you saved Ygwulf or not. Continue deeper to find both Erlinn Matishell and Ortrud. At this point, players are presented with several choices, and the reaction of the rebels changes based on whether you chose to save Ygwulf. If you did save him, the rebels will be more receptive to your words instead of immediately attacking.

Should You Allow The Rebels To Keep The Stolen Crops In Avowed?

In simpler terms, Erlinn’s reasoning suggests that both the farmers and the rebels need food, so it’s justifiable for the crops to stay with the Paradisan rebels. If you agree with this logic, you gain 350 coins in the game Avowed from her. Therefore, the crops remain with the rebels, and when you tell Sielo about this, he gets angry and asks you to leave him alone.

The second approach is to make a concession. You could inform Erlinn that the farmer’s wife is ill and she urgently requires Rose Draught. In response, the rebels will willingly part with the Rose Draught, ensuring the crops remain intact. Sielo may not be pleased with this situation, but you can remind him of his wife’s need for the medicine, and as a farmer, he can always plant more. Choosing to accept the monetary reward earns you 350 coins, or alternatively, you could decline to receive the Forager’s Friend Ring, which grants a 20% boost in health and essence from any food source.

Should You Return The Stolen Crops To Sielo In Avowed?

In my gaming adventure, just like the previous option, there are two ways to get Sielo’s stolen crops back. But one method hinges on Ygwulf’s survival – a character I spared during the An Untimely End quest. If I tell Erlinn, “Ygwulf managed to escape, didn’t he? I’m not his enemy,” and “I only ask for one more favor, a show of goodwill,” she might just hand over the stolen crops, hoping to keep me as an ally. However, beware, Iglaf will confront us on our way out, compelling Erlinn to intervene and take down some rebels with me. If my Resolve is high enough, I can avoid a fight with Iglaf altogether.

The second choice is to take an aggressive approach, which is your only recourse if Ygwulf isn’t spared, and you want to reclaim the stolen crops. However, this option is not advisable because the entire cave will turn hostile, and the situation could escalate rapidly. After completing your task, make sure to leave the cave and return the pilfered crops to Sielo. In either scenario, the farmer will provide you with money, and if you decline, he’ll give you the Forager’s Friend Ring instead.
