Everyone knows about my time with Andrew Ridgeley from Wham!, but honestly, that was just one part of a pretty exciting love life. Let’s just say I shared a secret romance – and a bit of a ‘Careless Whisper’ moment – with another well-known British celebrity too!
A businesswoman from Belgravia, known for appearing on the TV show Real Housewives of London, says she briefly dated Jude Law after meeting him at a private club in London.
Fifty-seven-year-old Cronin had recently become single when she met 53-year-old Law at the Groucho Club, a famous private club in London’s Soho known for attracting celebrities.
Oh my gosh, it was the most serendipitous thing ever! I mean, she just happened to trip – in heels, naturally – and who was there to catch her? HIM! Jude Law, being the total gentleman he is, rushed over and helped her up. It was like something out of a movie, honestly! A completely accidental, perfect moment.
She told The Sun that she was wearing heels and a lovely dress when a man caught her before she fell down some stairs.
It was surprising how quickly they connected, discovering a shared passion for poetry. After learning about her daughter Sofia’s Persian background, Law showed his considerate nature by giving her a book of poetry from the Middle East.
‘It was Persian poetry because he knew my daughter was Persian,’ she recalled.
According to Cronin, her brief romantic relationship with the actor – who is now married to Phillipa Coan, a business psychologist – took place at her luxurious £12 million home in the prestigious Eaton Square area of London.
She described it as a fleeting connection. She hadn’t truly been unattached, but he was, and she was technically ‘on a break’ from another relationship. She emphasized it was just a brief encounter, and that he was a genuinely kind and attractive person.
Cronin recently revealed this after previously stating that her former boyfriend, Andrew Ridgeley – who was a popular singer with Wham! in the 1980s – wasn’t someone she considered suitable for a long-term relationship.
She told the Daily Mail she wants a committed, exclusive relationship. She’s hoping to find someone who shares her beliefs and values when she meets the right person.
I’m a pretty traditional person, and I’d describe myself as sweet and down-to-earth. I also know what I want and appreciate being around people who ‘get’ that about me.
Okay, so she finally addressed the breakup, and honestly, it just makes me love her even more! She basically said, ‘Look, I’m a strong, independent woman – I know what I want, and I’m not going to settle for less.’ It’s like she’s saying she and her ex just weren’t on the same level, and that’s okay! It’s not a dig at him, it’s just… a statement of fact. She’s amazing, and not everyone can handle that, apparently. I get it, queen!
Looking back, I honestly have no regrets about my time with George Ridgeley – it was a lovely chapter in my life! That is, until I finally shared the news of our split in the Daily Mail diary a few years ago. Even then, I felt it was the right thing to do, and I still feel that way today.
‘It’s massive, dating Andrew Ridgeley from Wham!, wow,’ she said. ‘I’m quite proud of it.
He’s a wonderful person, and this experience was truly enjoyable. It’s a story I’ll definitely include in my memoir.
In 2019, she divorced Mark Daeche, who co-founded the energy and broadband company First Utility (later sold to Shell). He is believed to have a net worth of approximately £40 million.
The couple got married in 2013 and lived a glamorous lifestyle, traveling between London, Monaco, the South of France, and Geneva. They separated in 2017 after growing distant and spending more and more time living separately.
Looking back, things just weren’t working between us. He was really stressed with work and would get easily frustrated, and honestly, I think I ended up being the one who bore the brunt of it. It felt like I became an easy person to take things out on when he was having a tough time.
You know, when I’m feeling down, I have a little trick. I immediately think, ‘Okay, time to escape!’ I’ll head to London, spend time with my daughter and my closest friends – being around the people I love and feel comfortable with always lifts my spirits. It’s my way of prioritizing happiness and finding comfort when I need it most.
She explained that she only experienced anxiety during her divorce. It was a really tough period, and she briefly used Xanax to cope.
I wasn’t a heavy user, just a little at a time – I used to call it a ‘mouse’s nibble’. But it really helped me cope back then, and it became a habit that was hard to break. I even carried some with me everywhere, in all my bags and pouches.
She and her ex-partner, who was like a father to her daughter from a brief marriage in her twenties, have also managed to rebuild their relationship after a period of conflict.
‘We’ve broken bread,’ she said. ‘So we’re good.’
