Just a month after releasing War Machine on Netflix, Alan Ritchson is starring in another action movie. Angel Studios has released a first look at the trailer for Runner, an upcoming action thriller featuring Ritchson alongside Owen Wilson.
According to the official description, a former soldier finds himself in a dangerous, fast-paced situation when he’s tasked with delivering vital medicine. This makes him a target for a heartless cartel, and he must fight to survive and complete the delivery before a sick child’s time runs out. You can watch the trailer below.
Following his breakout role as Jack Reacher in the Prime Video series Reacher, Alan Ritchson has been starring in several action films. He’s set to reprise his role as Reacher in the show’s fourth season, which will be based on Lee Child’s 2009 novel Gone Tomorrow and is expected to launch later this year.
Alan Ritchson is currently shooting a biopic about Mike Thornton at Amazon MGM Studios. This film is one of three projects Ritchson is committed to with the studio. He not only stars in the movie but also co-wrote the script alongside Mark Semos, a producer from SEAL Team, and Jason Hall, the writer of American Sniper.
Alan Ritchson is currently involved with around six upcoming projects. His new action thriller, Motor City, has been picked up by RLJE Films and will be released soon. He’s finishing up work on The Man with the Bag, and is also set to star in Fortune, an adventure film similar to Indiana Jones, and a movie adaptation of Nicholas Sparks’ popular novel, Counting Miracles.
Runner is scheduled to hit theaters on Sept. 11.
