Everyone loves a good action show, and Reacher delivers! Starring Alan Ritchson as the former military police officer Jack Reacher, this Prime Video series quickly became a hit when it premiered in 2022. It broke streaming records and was the first Amazon show to reach number one on Nielsen’s list of the most popular streaming programs.
The show continued to be a hit with its second and third seasons, each quickly surpassing one billion minutes viewed after release. With Season 4 planned for 2026, it’s clear Reacher will remain popular for a long time. Recently, the show had a surprisingly successful crossover with another major action series, and the combination worked incredibly well.
Jack Reacher Makes an Unconventional Appearance in Another Prime Video Show
It’s natural that two popular shows on Prime Video, The Boys and another series, would team up. In the first episode of The Boys’ fifth season, titled “Fifteen Inches of Sheer Dynamite,” Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) goes to visit The Worm (Ely Henry) at his home. The Worm used to write scripts for Vought Studios’ superheroes, but Vought fired him, as Butcher puts it.
In a recent stream, viewers watched The Worm write a sample screenplay for the show Reacher. He narrated as he typed, establishing a scene in a dimly lit motel room. He described the character Reacher as physically imposing, and when a woman calls Reacher “huge,” he responds with a crude and predictable comment about size. Interestingly, a look at The Worm’s laptop screen revealed he also has projects related to Reacher fan edits, an adult-themed script for The Rings of Power, something connected to The Wheel of Time, and even what appears to be a script for an The Expanse movie – a project that the streamer jokingly pleaded Amazon not to tease.
Just as The Worm is working, Butcher shows up and asks for his help. They need to rescue Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie from a Vought-run internment camp. The Worm has some unusual abilities – let’s just say they involve manipulating earth – that could be key to the rescue.
‘The Boys’ Loves to Poke Fun at Other Shows

Eric Kripke’s The Boys loves to poke fun at other shows and media, and this episode confirms that other Prime Video series exist within the show’s universe. This lighthearted teasing of Reacher fits perfectly with the series’ style. Given The Boys‘ focus on critiquing harmful masculinity and online ‘manosphere’ culture, it makes sense they’d playfully mock Reacher‘s overly macho personality. The Deep would absolutely be a fan! It’s a clever and funny reference to another successful Prime Video show, achieved without needing to include Alan Ritchson in a guest appearance.
The creators of Reacher should acknowledge The Boys in Season 4 as a fun nod to fans. Imagine if Homelander used his laser vision, only for Reacher to somehow snap him in two! Someone really needs to write a scene like that.
