Project Hail Mary delays streaming release following record-breaking success

If you’re hoping to watch Project Hail Mary on a streaming service soon, we have some unfortunate news. Because the sci-fi movie has been so successful in theaters, it will continue to be shown in cinemas for a bit longer.

Directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the movie is based on Andy Weir’s 2021 novel and stars Ryan Gosling as a science teacher who travels to space. There, he makes an alien friend while trying to save the world.

The sci-fi movie has earned over $538 million in ticket sales since it came out last month, becoming the most successful film ever released by Amazon MGM Studios (according to Box Office Mojo).

Because of the film’s continued success, Miller announced on X (formerly Twitter) that Project Hail Mary will stay in theaters longer and won’t be available for streaming yet.

This film is best enjoyed on the big screen! It’s returning to IMAX for one week starting this weekend, so don’t miss the chance to see it in a theater. Gather your friends and family – it’s a perfect shared experience.
