I’ve been playing Pokémon TCG Pocket (released in 2024), and it’s seriously addictive! Basically, it’s a mobile game where you collect digital Pokémon cards, create your own decks, and battle against computer opponents or challenge other players online. It’s become a huge hit – one of the most successful ‘gacha’ games out there, honestly!
The popularity of Pokémon TCG Pocket isn’t surprising, as the trading card game remains a major source of revenue for the Pokémon franchise. The game recreates the excitement of opening card packs and building a collection, all without requiring actual purchases.
Darkrai & Mega Altaria ex Have a Big Payoff as Early as Round 1
As a player, I’m really excited about this Darkrai and Mega Altaria ex deck! The key to its success is how Darkrai works with Igglybuff. Igglybuff can put the opponent’s main Pokémon to sleep, which is a fantastic way to avoid taking damage. Plus, Mega Altaria ex’s Mega Harmony attack can do a surprising amount of damage – up to 130! – for just two Energy, making it super efficient.
Okay, so if you want to build this deck, here’s what you’ll need: two Igglybuff cards, two Mega Altaria ex, two Swablu, two Darkrai, one Leaf card, one Rocky Helmet, one Cyrus, two Mars, one Copycat, one Lisia, one Training Area, two Poké Balls, and two Professor’s Research cards. The best part? It only uses one type of Energy, so you don’t have to worry about splitting up your Energy cards – it’s a pretty straightforward deck to play!
Magnezone ex & Pom-Pom Oricorio is a Great Counter to Darkrai Decks
This deck’s main power comes from Magnezone ex, which can hit hard with 130 damage using only three Electric Energy. It also includes a regular Magnezone that can disrupt your opponent by preventing their Active Pokémon from attacking, and is sometimes more useful than the ex version. Oricorio is a quick attacker that helps set up the board while you get your Magnezone ready.
To finish building this deck, you’ll need the following cards: 2 Magneton, 2 Oricorio, 2 Magnemite, 1 Magnezone, 1 Teal Mask Ogerpon ex, 1 Magnezone ex, 1 Giant Cape, 2 Cyrus, 1 Copycat, 1 Lisia, 1 Clemont, 1 Lucky Ice Pop, and 2 Poké Ball, plus 2 Professor’s Research. This deck focuses entirely on Electric-type Pokémon, which keeps the energy type consistent and simple.
Mega Sceptile ex & Pheromosa Can Deal High Damage to Active & Benched Pokémon
This deck is strong because Mega Sceptile ex can do a lot of damage – 130 points – with only two Grass Energy cards. Its Terminating Tail attack also adds extra damage by poisoning the opponent’s main Pokémon. Plus, Pheromosa can attack both the opponent’s main Pokémon and those on their bench, helping Mega Sceptile ex gradually lower the opponent’s health.
To finish building this deck, you’ll need two Pheromosa cards, one Nihilego, two Treecko, one Grovyle, two Mega Sceptile ex, one Erika, one Cyrus, two Rare Candy, two Poison Bard, one May, one Copycat, two Fragrant Forest, and two Professor’s Research cards. The deck only uses Grass Energy.
Zoroark ex & Mega Absol ex Have an Early Game Advantage
This Dark-type deck is a real threat thanks to Mega Absol ex, which can quickly defeat most ex Pokémon with its inexpensive attack. Zoroark ex is another strong card – it’s a Basic Pokémon that can deal significant damage right away, making it a great choice for early-game attacks. The deck aims to overwhelm opponents with fast, powerful hits before they can set up their stronger Pokémon. However, it’s a bit risky – you need to take control of the game early on to be successful.
To finish building this deck, you’ll need these cards: one Nihilego, one Absol, one Mega Absol ex, two Zorua, two Zoroark ex, one Bombirdier, one Sabrina, one Cyrus, two Poison Barb, two Copycat, one Lucky Ice Pop, one Hiking Trail, two Poké Ball, and two Professor’s Research. This deck focuses entirely on Darkness-type Pokémon, so you don’t need to worry about including any Energy cards.
Mega Blaziken ex & Sunny Form Castform is an Effective Low-Cost Deck
This deck, featuring Mega Blaziken ex and Sunny Form Castform, is similar to a Fire-type version of a Mega Absol ex and Zoroark ex strategy. It aims to quickly take control of the game with strong, low-cost attacks. Mega Blaziken ex’s Mega Burning attack hits hard with 120 damage for only two Energy, and Sunny Form Castform can easily inflict the Burned condition on opposing Pokémon.
To finish building this deck, you’ll need the following cards: two Torchic, two Mega Blaziken ex, two Castform (Sunny Form), one Sabrina, one Cyrus, two Rare Candy, one Lillie, two Flame Patch, one Copycat, one Mesagoza, one Hiking Trail, two Poké Ball, and two Professor’s Research. This deck…
Mega Altaria ex & Greninja is a Great Alternative Deck for Mega Altaria ex
This deck is a different take on the Mega Altaria ex strategy, which we’ve highlighted before for its strong Mega Harmony attack. It’s designed to quickly deal high damage, and benefits from Geninja’s ability to passively damage both the opponent’s Active and Benched Pokémon. However, a major weakness is that it takes a while to get everything set up and ready to go.
To finish building this deck, you’ll need the following cards: two Froakie, one Frogadier, two Greninja, two Mega Altaria ex, two Chingling, two Swablu, one Cyrus, one Rare Candy, two Copycat, one Lisia, one Training Area, one Poké Ball, and two Professor’s Research. While Greninja is a Water-type Pokémon, the deck is designed to primarily use Psychic Energy. Greninja is included because its Water Shuriken ability can deal damage without needing any Energy cards.
Chien-Pao ex & Baxcalibur Have Great Ice Synergy
This deck is strong because Chien-Pao ex can use its Diving Icicles attack to deal a significant 130 damage to any of the opponent’s Pokémon. However, Diving Icicles forces you to discard all Energy from Chien-Pao ex, and that’s where Baxcalibur helps. Baxcalibur’s Ice Maker ability lets you attach a Water Energy to your Active Pokémon each turn, effectively recharging Chien-Pao ex for another attack.
To finish building this deck, you’ll need the following cards: two Suicune ex, two Frigibax, two Baxcalibur, one Chien-Pao ex, one Giant Cape, one Cyrus, one Mars, one Pokémon Center Lady, two Rare Candy, one Inflatable Boat, one Copycat, one Starting Plains, two Poké Balls, and two Professor’s Research. This deck is built entirely around Ice Pokémon, which are considered Water-type, meaning you only need Water Energy to power it up.
Mega Absol ex & Hydreigon is Currently Mega Absol ex’s Most Powerful Deck
Okay, so I’ve been playing with the Mega Absol ex and Zoroark ex deck, and it’s seriously strong. Mega Absol ex has this cheap attack that can knock out most ex Pokémon in just two hits, which is amazing. When you pair that with Hydreigon’s crazy damage, you’ve got a deck that can handle pretty much anything. The only thing that’s a little rough is that Mega Absol ex doesn’t have a ton of HP for an ex Pokémon, so opponents can sometimes take it down with a single big attack.
Okay, so if I want to finish building this deck, I still need a few cards. I’m missing one Nihilego, one Mega Absol ex, two Deino, two Hydreigon, and one copy each of Cyrus and the Pokémon Center Lady. I also need two Rare Candy, two Poison Barb, two Copycat, one Lucky Ice Pop, one Hiking Trail, and two Poké Balls, plus two Professor’s Research. The good news is, all I need for energy is Darkness Energy – that makes things a lot easier!
Mega Lucario ex & Hitmontop is a Strong Fighting-Type Deck
This deck’s strength lies in Mega Lucario ex’s powerful Fighting Pulse attack, which can inflict up to 140 damage for just two Energy. This makes it a very efficient attack, especially when combined with cards like Korrina and Arena of Antiquity. Additionally, Hitmontop’s ability to damage both the opponent’s Active Pokémon and a Pokémon on their Bench helps to finish off opponents and capitalize on strategic plays.
To finish building this deck, you’ll need two Riolu cards, two Hitmontop cards, two Mega Lucario ex cards, two Rocky Helmet cards, one Cyrus card, one Pokémon Center Lady card, two Copycat cards, one Korrina card, one Arena of Antiquity card, two X Speed cards, two Poké Ball cards, and two Professor’s Research cards. The deck only requires Fighting Energy to play.
Mega Lucario ex & Darkrai is Mega Lucario ex’s Most Powerful Deck
This deck is very strong, building on all the advantages we discussed earlier. The key change is replacing Hitmontop with Darkrai. Darkrai works well with Igglybuff’s ability, which puts the opponent’s Pokémon to sleep. Darkrai then automatically damages sleeping Pokémon, preventing them from attacking and steadily chipping away at their health. While it’s a close call, Darkrai is the better choice if played effectively.
To finish building this deck, you’ll need the following cards: two Riolu, two Igglybuff, two Darkrai, two Mega Lucario ex, one Sabrina, one Cyrus, two Copycat, one Korrina, one Arena of Antiquity, two X Speed, two Poké Ball, and two Professor’s Research. Although Darkrai is a Darkness-type Pokémon, this deck doesn’t require any Darkness Energy for its attacks.
