Pete Davidson has made the rare move of flashing his bare arms in public.
On Wednesday, the actor gave a presentation at CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas for Amazon MGM Studios. They were dressed casually in a short-sleeved shirt, sweatpants, and Crocs while speaking at The Dolby Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
I was amazed to read that he spent six years and around $200,000 to remove almost all of his tattoos! Apparently, he really wanted a fresh start, and it took a huge commitment – and a lot of money – to get rid of all those marks. It’s incredible how dedicated he was to the process.
According to a source, he suddenly decided he no longer wanted them around, and it’s been a difficult process lasting for years.
Davidson opted to remove his tattoos as a ‘fresh start,’ a second insider told the outlet.
According to a source, he’s experiencing a lot of success – things are progressing well, and the movie is getting rave reviews.
Pete Davidson recently shared on Today how painful it’s been to remove his tattoos, calling the process ‘pretty terrible’.
He advised anyone considering a tattoo to be absolutely sure, pointing to his own faded arm tattoo as an example of how they can disappear over time. “It’s pretty much gone now,” he noted.
The actor started getting sober in 2020, and that inspired him to make big changes in his life, starting with how he looked.
Once I stopped drinking, I looked at myself and didn’t recognize the person staring back. I realized I needed to make some changes.
Davidson checked into a wellness facility to seek mental health treatment in late July.
In 2021, Pete Davidson revealed he was removing his tattoos because he believed it would help him land more acting jobs.
The actor explained on Seth Meyers’ show that he’s considering laser tattoo removal because it currently takes three hours each day to cover them with makeup.
He shared that he never expected to become an actor, but he’s really enjoying it.
Okay, so he told me you have to get there three hours early just to hide all your tattoos! Apparently, movie people just… don’t really have tattoos, or at least not as many as us normal people. It’s so weird, but I’m totally willing to do whatever it takes to be near him, even if it means a ton of cover-up makeup!
Pete said that removing his tattoo is actually more painful than getting it in the first place.
He told Seth, ‘So now I’m burning them off, but burning them off is worse than getting them.
He explained that the treatment not only burns the skin, but patients also wear large goggles that block their vision, and the doctor remains with them during the procedure.
Okay, so here’s the thing – before he gets any of his tattoos lasered off, he has to, like, dramatically announce what each one is. It’s so he can ask everyone if they think it should stay or go! I know, it’s amazing, right? He wants our input on everything.
I’d be relaxing, feeling the effects of the nitrous oxide, when someone would suddenly ask about keeping a scene of Stewie Griffin smoking marijuana. Then I’d have to explain that we weren’t going to do that, as the show’s doctor.
