Peppa Pig will cheer on Daddy Pig at the London Marathon as he raises money for the National Deaf Children’s Society after son George’s hearing loss

Daddy Pig is taking on his biggest challenge yet, announcing his plans to run the London Marathon.

Peppa Pig’s dad is running a full marathon (26.2 miles) – both in the cartoon and in real life – to support the National Deaf Children’s Society. He’s doing this after his son, George, was recently diagnosed with hearing loss.

For the first time ever on the popular children’s show, Daddy Pig will be running a marathon – both in the episode and in real life! He’ll be wearing a special costume for the real-life run.

Peppa Pig, her brother George, Mummy Pig, and baby Evie will be cheering on Daddy Pig as he runs with thousands of others in the famous race on Sunday, April 26th.

Daddy Pig, just like the other runners, has been practicing a lot to get in good shape for the race. His little piglets have been helping him train!

Daddy Pig told the Daily Mail that Peppa has taken on the role of his coach and is definitely keeping him active and challenged.

Peppa hasn’t been limiting her training to just jumping in muddy puddles. Her dad shared that they’ve been running often (though Peppa likes to scoot) and coming up with lots of new training activities.

I believe I’m the first person to complete the London Marathon while training with three piglets on my back.

I absolutely adore Daddy Pig! He’s always been a bit of a homebody, not really one for running around, but he recently told Peppa and George something so inspiring. He said he wanted to show them that if you really try, and don’t give up, you can achieve anything you set your mind to. It was such a sweet moment, and honestly, it really resonated with me! He’s such a good dad.

He’s not only motivating his kids, but also running with a team of 50 others to support the National Deaf Children’s Society, hoping to raise money and get people talking about their important work.

Daddy Pig shared that the National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS) had been incredibly helpful and supportive since they learned George has moderate hearing loss in one ear. He explained that fundraising felt like a great way to thank them for everything they’ve done.

Last month, it was revealed that a new story arc in the popular children’s show will feature Peppa Pig’s younger brother being diagnosed with moderate hearing loss.

A new episode coming to Milkshake on March 9th shows George finding out he has some hearing loss in one ear during a regular check-up with the doctor. His family learns he has moderate hearing loss.

After receiving a hearing aid, he’s able to hear sounds differently, and this heartwarming story continues to highlight the importance of representation and inclusivity.

Daddy Pig shared an update about his son, saying things have been a bit challenging at times, but he’s adjusting really well to the changes.

He’s a really determined and enthusiastic little guy, and he’s loving exploring everything around him!

Fans of George Pig will be happy to learn his family is rallying around him after his recent diagnosis. His dad, Daddy Pig, shared that Peppa has been wonderfully supportive, consistently knowing when George needs assistance and offering her help.

‘We’ve all learned a lot and educated ourselves as much as possible.’

Even simple things, like minimizing distractions or making eye contact when talking to George, can make a big difference for him.

We also have some new tech features, like a doorbell that lights up. George is a bit obsessed with it, particularly when Evie is napping!

Jack Harrison, a father to 17-month-old George who is deaf, is participating in a fundraising event for the National Deaf Children’s Society, alongside the character Daddy Pig. He shares Daddy Pig’s positive comments about the NDCS and the important work they do.

‘When our son George was diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss at just three weeks old, the National Deaf Children’s Society became our lifeline — from essential information to helping our whole family learn some BSL,’ Jack explained.

Even a small contribution can greatly help deaf children. I’m definitely not a natural runner, and balancing training with work and my three kids is really challenging – I’m sure Daddy Pig feels the same way! – but it’s all worth it to support a cause we care about so much.

You can follow Daddy Pig and his teammates during the TCS London Marathon using the official app. The app also lets you donate to his chosen charity through his Enthuse fundraising page.

Celebrations will continue across Marathon Day with a Peppa Pig Fan Zone.

A new Peppa Pig episode where Daddy Pig runs a marathon will be shown on Milkshake starting April 18th.
