Now that The Immortal Man has been released, the focus of the Peaky Blinders universe is shifting to a new, currently unnamed sequel series. Thankfully, the series creator, Steven Knight, has given us a hint of what to expect from the spin-off.
Speaking with Deadline at the BAFTA TV Awards on Sunday, May 10th, creator Knight shared that filming is progressing smoothly and is expected to wrap up in just a few weeks.
The writer and creator believes audiences will really enjoy how it came together, calling it “so good.” He also wasn’t sure if they would make another movie after The Immortal Man.

The new series, a collaboration between the BBC and Netflix, continues the Shelby family’s story in the 1950s. This time, Duke (played by Jamie Bell) is at the head of a fresh group of Peaky Blinders.
Joining the cast alongside Charlie Heaton, Lucy Karczewski, Jessica Brown Findlay, and Lashana Lynch is Freddie Bell, who is the third actor to take on the role of Duke, following Conrad Khan and Barry Keoghan.
What to Read Next
Ten years after World War II, Birmingham is being rebuilt, but the effort quickly turns into a fierce and dangerous struggle. The city offers incredible opportunities, but also immense risk, and at the center of it all is a powerful figure known as Duke Shelby.
Originally named Erasmus, this character is now older, wiser, and more driven – and potentially a real threat. It’s still unclear how he’ll adjust to his new position.

We’re excited to share that the story of Peaky Blinders will continue, set in Birmingham after the war, in the early 1950s,” said Steven Knight, who is also writing the script for the next James Bond movie.
I’m so excited! Jamie Bell is going to be playing Tommy Shelby’s oldest son, Duke, and Charlie Heaton is also joining the cast – that’s amazing news! They’ve hinted there are even more cast members they’ll be announcing soon, and it sounds like Peaky Blinders is really back in action!
Peaky Blinders streams on BBC iPlayer and Netflix, while The Immortal Man is on Netflix.
