Patrick Dempsey’s Memory of a Killer confirms season 2 after shock finale cliffhanger

Memory of a Killer season one finale spoilers follow.

Okay, so I just finished watching the first season of Memory of a Killer with Patrick Dempsey, and wow, that ending! Seriously, it left me on the edge of my seat. Good news though – Fox just announced they’re making a second season, so we’ll finally get some answers!

The new drama, created by Aaron Zelman and Glenn Kessler, features Miles Dempsey as Angelo Ledda, also known as Doyle. He leads a dangerous double life, working as a hitman in New York City while posing as a photocopier salesman and family man in Cooperstown, New York.

After Angelo receives an early Alzheimer’s diagnosis, his dangerous career as a hitman starts to unravel, threatening his family as his memory declines.

As reported by Deadline, Fox has confirmed a second season of the thriller. Both Dempsey and Michael Imperioli, who plays crime boss Dutch Forlanni—a longtime friend and employer of the main character—are set to return.

Fox Television Network president Michael Thorn praised Memory of a Killer, highlighting the powerful performances of Patrick Dempsey and Michael Imperioli.

As a huge fan, I’m so thrilled to hear that ‘Shōgun’ is getting a Season 2! Aaron Zelman, Glenn Kessler, and the whole team at Warner Bros. Television really knocked it out of the park with this first season – it’s a gripping, emotional story with characters you really connect with, and it’s clearly resonated with a lot of us. I can’t wait to see what they come up with next!

During the first season, Angelo’s life was turned upside down when he began to suspect his wife’s death wasn’t an accident. Adding to his distress, someone targeted his pregnant daughter, Maria (Odeya Rush).

Following Angelo’s defeat of his enemy, Agent Grant (Gina Torres), Nicky (Michaela McManus), the woman Angelo loved, was tragically stabbed to death on Grant’s orders.

The story ended with a shocking twist: Angelo’s daughter received a mysterious file listing all of his past crimes, along with the location of his hidden apartment in New York City.

Right at the conclusion of the episode, Maria—having just had a baby—arrived at Angelo’s home and asked him, “Dad, please tell me the truth.”

With a second season greenlit by Fox, it looks as though Maria will be getting some answers.

Memory of a Killer is available to stream now on Prime Video.
