Paradise Season 2 Theory Hints At Who Alex Really Is (& It Involves Time Travel)

Be warned, this contains spoilers for the first three episodes of Paradise season 2! A new fan theory suggests that Alex’s true identity is connected to time travel. The show has started to expand its universe in the first three episodes, beginning with episode one which introduced Annie, a survivor who encounters a group led by Link.

As a big fan of Paradise, I was really thrown when it was revealed Link wasn’t just heading to that Colorado bunker for safety – he was going to kill Alex. What made it even wilder was that we hadn’t heard that name before! Then, episode 3 of season 2 dropped this huge reveal about who Alex actually is, but honestly, it just opened up a whole new can of worms and left me with even more questions.

Paradise Season 2 Flashbacks Confirm Alex Was Henry Miller’s Wife Who Died From Huntington’s Disease

I was completely captivated by the latest episode of Paradise! The flashbacks in season 2, episode 3, revealed how ruthless Kesha Sinatra is. She actually hired Billy Pace to strong-arm this brilliant scientist, Henry Miller, into selling his company. It was chilling to see she’d order Billy to kill him if he didn’t comply. The scene where Billy tries to persuade Henry at a bar was so tense, and I loved how Henry cleverly led Billy away from the bar and back to his place after refusing to sell – it was a really smart move!

At Henry’s home, they find his wife, Alex, is suffering from a fatal case of Huntington’s Disease. Billy witnesses Henry help her end her life. Billy then kills Henry, and it’s revealed that his apprentice and business partner, Link, was involved all along. But Alex’s death is puzzling – why would Link want to harm her unless there’s another Alex connected to the situation?

Paradise Suggests That Alex Is The Codename For Special Technology

As a huge fan of this show, I was really intrigued by episode 3 of season 2. It strongly suggests that “Alex” isn’t a person, but actually the code name for a secret project Sinatra’s been working on. We find out the person really in charge of the bunker is secretly diverting power to fuel some kind of advanced technology – though what that tech is remains a mystery! It’s a total game-changer, especially because season 1 of Paradise never even hinted at anything like this.

If ‘Alex’ refers to a project rather than a person, then Link could be going to the bunker to stop whatever Sinatra’s been building. It’s still unknown exactly what that is, but conversations between Billy and Henry, along with other clues, suggest it might involve time travel.

Is Sinatra Using Alex For Time Travel?

Hints of the time travel storyline appeared early on, starting with Link experiencing a headache while discussing Alex in season 2, episode 1. Then, in episode 2, Xavier had a vision of Link, even though they hadn’t met. However, the biggest clue came in episode 3 when Henry correctly predicted Billy’s nosebleed before Billy was defeated.

Link seems to play a crucial role, as Henry insists Billy spare his life, claiming the world’s future hangs in the balance. If Link tries to dismantle or “eliminate” Sinatra’s work, he might be attempting to prevent her from carrying out plans involving time travel. It’s still unknown what his reasons for stopping her would be.

If Sinatra is using Alex to travel through time, the next season of Paradise might show her attempting to prevent the supervolcano eruption and save the billions of people she cares about. But Link could be hiding something, which explains why he decided to “kill Alex” – even though Sinatra insists she’s trying to save the world.
