Paramount Kills Ryan Reynolds Sci-Fi Movie & ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’ Spin-Off

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount has cancelled several projects, including a spin-off of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off called Victor and Sam’s Day Off, and a science fiction film directed by Colin Trevorrow and produced by Ryan Reynolds. The untitled sci-fi movie was reportedly set in the 1980s and centered around Area 51. It’s unknown if Reynolds planned to star in the film, but this is a significant shift for the studio, moving away from both Reynolds and the director of the Jurassic World films. Victor and Sam’s Day Off, which was announced by Paramount+ in 2022, would have followed the two valets who famously took a Ferrari for a drive in the original movie.
