Operation Collision Point releases alongside the Rainbow Six Siege Y9S4 update.

The last Operation of the year, titled Operation Collision Point, is set to bring numerous enhancements to features like matchmaking, reputation system, and matchmaking updates, among others. We’ll soon find out when this new operation goes live, and here’s a sneak peek into what it has in store for us.

Operation Collision Point Release Date

On December 3, 2024, as announced by Ubisoft, Operation Collision Date will be activated. This operation is slated to be included in the Y9S4 update release.

The Operation Collision Date marks the final instalment for Rainbow Six Siege this year, bringing significant new elements and adjustments. One of the most thrilling additions is the rollout of the PC and Console cross-play functionality. This means players using different platforms can now team up with their friends to play. If you possess the game on PC and log in with a Ubisoft account connected to your PSN account, you’ll be able to transfer your entire inventory and Clearance Level.

What’s new in Operation Collision Date

In the “Collision Date” operation, a range of modifications have been implemented, such as changes to Shields, Blackbeard, Ballistic Shields, and others. The introduction of PC and Console crossplay introduces distinct difficulties that Ubisoft endeavors to address through the Collision Point update. Additionally, an update has been made to the Siege Cup Beta, allowing those who meet the necessary requirements to participate in the tournament.

In addition to the previously mentioned adjustments, there have been significant enhancements to the matchmaking system as well. The new Phantom Player idea is designed to level the playing field when stacked teams face individual or solo players in matches. Frequently, those who play in groups enjoy a statistical edge over players queuing up for matches alone. To counter this advantage, Ubisoft has come up with the concept of a Phantom player.

Using Phantom Player in matches, the matchmaking system incorporates an imaginary teammate who uses mathematical calculations based on the individual abilities of the squad members. This virtual player helps balance the skill levels within each squad. Additionally, it considers the size of the squad, so larger teams may encounter more challenging opponents.

Team rebalancing works towards ensuring equal abilities in matchmaking groups. It now uses an enhanced algorithm to evaluate player skills on either team. If there’s a noticeable difference in skill levels between teams, the system adjusts by moving players between teams to create a more even playing field.

With the Y9S4 update, there are numerous modifications and enhancements not only for operators but also within the game. This exciting update, along with Operation Collision Course, will be available starting December 3, 2024.
