Only Murders star confirms show exit ahead of season 4

As a dedicated fan of “Only Murders in the Building,” I’ve grown quite attached to the charming and intriguing world of Mabel, Oliver, and Charles. Jesse Williams’ portrayal of Tobert in season three added an exciting layer to the storyline, and his chemistry with Selena Gomez’s character was undeniable.

Only Murders in the Building has said goodbye to one of its guest stars ahead of season 4.

Jesse Williams, who acted as Mabel’s romantic interest and documentary maker Tobias in the previous season, has announced that he won’t be coming back to portray this character once more in the upcoming season.

In a recent conversation with People, the actor who plays a major role on Grey’s Anatomy announced his departure from the Hulu program. When asked about his involvement in the show going forward, Williams simply stated, “I am no longer part of that production.”

As a dedicated gamer following the thrilling twists of “Only Murders in the Building,” I was on the edge of my seat during the season three finale. When it came time for Tobias to say his farewells to New York and Mabel, I couldn’t believe my eyes as he set off for sunny Los Angeles, pursuing an exciting new job opportunity.

During the third installment, Tobert and the other character became good friends as Tobert was employed by renowned actor Ben Glenroy to film his upcoming Broadway premiere in the new musical “Death Rattle.” After Glenroy’s tragic death, Tobert assists Mabel in investigating potential suspects, eventually leading to a blossoming romance between them.

Before leaving for Hollywood, Tobey invited Mabel to come along, but in the end, the amateur sleuth declined Tobey’s gracious proposal to work together on more murder cases with their neighbors Oliver Putnam and Charles Haden-Savage in Arconia.

The fourth season will be available to watch starting August 27 in the US on Hulu, while viewers in the UK can stream it from that date on Disney+.

In this installment, the curious threesome aim to identify the person responsible for fatally shooting Sazz Pataki, Charles’ stunt double, at the finale of season three.

Along with conducting their regular murder investigation, Mabel, Charles, and Oliver will additionally travel to Los Angeles for a chance to transform their successful podcast into a major film production.

In the upcoming fourth season, we have some fresh faces joining the cast: Molly Shannon, Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria, and Melissa McCarthy. Meanwhile, Meryl Streep and Da’Vine Joy Randolph will be returning to reprise their roles.

The fourth installment of “Only Murders in the Building” is set to premiere on Hulu in the US and Disney+ in the UK beginning August 27.
