Offset breaks silence two weeks after being shot and reveals he is ‘blessed’ to ‘still move’ after bullet hit his hip

Offset is moving on and healing just two weeks after getting shot outside a Florida casino.

The Migos rapper, age 34, discussed the shooting on the Creators Inc. Podcast with Andy Bachman. He said he felt fortunate to still be able to move, sharing his thoughts just six days after the incident.

On April 6th, the musician was shot outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Florida. They were receiving a vitamin IV drip during a podcast at the time and were taken to the hospital with injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening.

During a recent podcast appearance, Cardi B’s ex-husband shared that he was shot in the hip. He has also performed in a concert since the shooting.

When Bachman commented on how quickly Offset seemed to recover after being shot, the rapper simply pointed out that shootings happen all the time.

The hip-hop artist, Kiari Cephus, encouraged everyone to persevere, saying, ‘You have to keep going, like the Energizer Bunny.’ He explained that life never stops, and he felt fortunate to be able to continue working and moving forward despite challenges.

‘The grind don’t stop bro. I don’t want nobody feel sorry for me or no s**t like that,’ he added.

I feel fortunate and capable, so there’s no reason to stop now. I need to keep striving and moving forward.

Following Bachman’s question about whether Offset had been injured in the shooting – specifically asking about his groin – the rapper responded that he had been shot in the hip.

The artist also said he’s been busy in Los Angeles working on his new album.

As a huge music fan, I was so thrilled to see Offset take the Coachella stage on Saturday! It was incredible, especially considering he performed just days after being shot – talk about resilience and dedication to his fans! It really showed his commitment and energy.

Despite using a wheelchair, he was able to stand up during parts of his performance, according to video he shared on Instagram.

Offset captioned a post to his nearly 24 million followers, ‘REAL LOVE ❤️.’

Police say 24-year-old Lil Tjay started the argument that resulted in the shooting of a former member of the rap group Migos.

Police say that rapper Tione Merritt, known as Tjay, told people with him to start a fight with another group of men around 7:22 PM on Monday, according to documents obtained by the Daily Mail.

The musician from Atlanta had previously talked about the fight while responding to Lil Tjay’s accusation that he was an informant.

Offset replied to a post on The Shade Room Teens, dismissing his rival with the slang term ‘You ain’t bussin”.

This happened after Tjay was arrested for a minor disturbance and then released on bail.

After being released, he recounted to reporters that the last thing he remembered was Offset looking at him and repeatedly saying, “He shot me! He shot me!”

I don’t engage in fights. The claim that I shot Offset is false and ridiculous. I would, however, physically confront him if given the chance.

Oh my god, I’ve been following everything about this case! Apparently, the police are saying someone with Lil Tjay’s crew actually shot Offset while they were at the valet of the Seminole Hard Rock! I can’t believe it! It’s just… insane. They’re saying one of Tjay’s guys pulled a gun and fired at Offset right there in the valet area. I’m so worried about everyone involved!

The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Offset, Lil Tjay, the Seminole Police, and the Broward County Sheriff’s Department, but has not yet received a response.

On Tuesday, Lil Tjay’s lawyer, Dawn Florio, refuted reports claiming he was involved in a shooting.

A representative confirmed that Lil Tjay was not shot, and also clarified that he hasn’t been charged with any shooting offenses. Reports circulating online suggesting otherwise are untrue.

After sustaining a minor injury that required a hospital visit, Offset shared a statement on Instagram.

He wrote, ‘Thank you to everyone who’s checked in on me and showed me love!

I’m doing well, and I’m determined to improve even more. Right now, my priorities are my family, my health, and returning to making music.

The creator of the hit song ‘Bad and Boujee’ recently shared that he’s starting to understand life is a mix of small successes and big setbacks.

He finished the note by declaring, ‘Life is a gamble and I’m still playing to win.’

This event happened over three years after Takeoff, another member of the group Migos, was tragically shot and killed in Texas while outside a bowling alley.

As many of you know, I’ve been following the relationship between Offset and Cardi B for a while now. They share three beautiful children together, and it’s been quite a public journey. Recently, Cardi filed for divorce again in 2024, following a previous filing, and it’s definitely a tough time for both of them and their family.
