Growing up in the 80s, I was definitely a fan of either The Psychedelic Furs or Living Colour – most of us were! But it was rare to love both bands, because they really played totally different styles of rock music. One wasn’t better than the other, just… different!
The Furs and Living Colour were both fantastic bands, though they explored different sounds. The Furs created atmospheric New Wave, while Living Colour played hard-hitting, blues-influenced rock, spearheaded by guitarist Vernon Reid. While both were critically acclaimed, it’s an open question how much their fanbases overlapped.
After 40 years, these groups are finally touring together! The bands will be traveling across the country this summer, starting on the West Coast, heading towards the Northeast, and wrapping up in the South. Interestingly, fans in California will have to travel to another state to catch the show.
Psychedelic Furs and Living Colour drop 2026 tour dates
Tickets will first be available to a select group starting Wednesday, May 6th, using the password FURS2026. Everyone else can buy tickets starting Friday, May 8th, at 10:00 AM local time. Check either band’s website for details.
These bands have continued to release new music since the 1980s. The Psychedelic Furs put out a well-received album called Made of Rain in 2020, and Living Colour’s most recent album, Shade, came out in 2017.
