No sweat: Ashton Kutcher swears that he showers, despite past podcasts to the contrary

I have to admit, I’m a little disappointed! All those articles claiming Ashton Kutcher doesn’t shower regularly? Turns out, that was just a rumor – he actually does bathe, just like the rest of us.

So, I was reading an interview with Ashton Kutcher in People magazine, and he was saying how wild things got on set at some point. Apparently, they made some offhand remark, and suddenly everyone started wondering if he, like, actually smelled bad! It was a really bizarre reaction, according to him.

Why are so many celebrities admitting they don’t wash regularly? Actor Jake Gyllenhaal recently shared his own bathing routine, adding to the conversation.

Ashton Kutcher told his co-stars, Jeremy Pope and Anthony Ramos, that he and his wife, Mila Kunis, had jokingly mentioned on a podcast a while back that they don’t shower often and are very specific about where they do shower.

This all started back in 2021 during an appearance on Dax Shepard’s “Armchair Expert” podcast. At the time, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis discussed their bathing habits, revealing that Kutcher only washed his armpits and groin daily, and Kunis believed there was no need to bathe children unless they were visibly dirty.

But in hindsight, yes, that was most likely sarcastic.

“I’m like, ‘I shower, I go to the gym, I shower,’” Kutcher told People this week.

Ashton Kutcher explained that going through his divorce from Demi Moore and the infidelity that led to it ultimately helped him grow as a person, a realization he shared while accepting an award in his home state of Iowa on Saturday night.

Ramos backed up his buddy’s story, saying with a laugh, “I can confirm my boy showers.”

For the movie “The Beauty,” Ashton Kutcher needed to get back into good physical shape because his character spends a lot of time shirtless or in a Speedo.

I’ve spent the last while working as a venture capitalist from my home office,” the former “Two and a Half Men” star explained to People magazine. “I realized I needed to make a change, so I hired a trainer named Robbie Egan. He comes to my house at 5 a.m. before I start work and really pushes me hard.”

But enough about beatings. Back to the summer of 2021.

California

California, still recovering from a very wet winter, reached a significant achievement this week: there are currently no areas of the state experiencing drought conditions for the first time in a quarter of a century.

Around the same time, Kristen Bell, who is married to podcaster Dax Shepard, shared that they prefer to let their kids get a little dirty before giving them a bath, as a way to conserve water, especially considering the ongoing drought.

She explained that if you smell something unpleasant, your body is telling you it’s time to clean. It’s a sign of bacteria building up, and you should immediately take a bath or shower to address it.

Shepard explained that they used to give their children a bath every night as part of their bedtime routine. But eventually, the kids started falling asleep independently, and Shepard and her partner realized they hadn’t bathed them in a while, prompting a worried question: ‘When did we last give them a bath?’

The Bell-Shepard family hasn’t released any further information, but actor Jake Gyllenhaal also reportedly tried to explain his involvement in the supposed 2021 trend.

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard were asked to leave an airport, but it wasn’t because of anything their children did – they weren’t even drinking non-alcoholic beer!

I recently read an interview with Jake Gyllenhaal in Vanity Fair from August 2021, and he shared something pretty interesting – he’s been bathing less often! He jokingly tied it to a belief, inspired by Elvis Costello, that good hygiene and fresh breath won’t necessarily get you ahead in life. Apparently, he’s decided that if good manners and breath don’t matter, neither does a daily shower, and he’s sticking to that principle.

A month later, he told Buzzfeed on a red carpet that he had been misunderstood.

You know, there was this one time I answered a question, and I was totally being sarcastic – maybe even a little ironic. It’s become this running joke, and honestly, it’s a bit much. I even joked that I regretted showering before coming here, because I couldn’t properly demonstrate my point. I know, it’s silly, but I felt I needed to apologize for that!

Never apologize for showering, Jake. It’s just not necessary. At least not anymore.
