Nintendo is giving away a free game this month! The best part? You don’t need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to download and play it.

The new game, Hello, Yoshi!, is designed for young children and is part of the My Mario series. It lets players playfully distort Yoshi’s face and see his funny expressions, similar to the classic intro screen of Super Mario 64. It’s a perfect first game for kids, but it also offers a nostalgic experience for older fans who remember playing Super Mario 64 on the Nintendo 64 in the 1990s.

Get ready for some fun with Yoshi! This free app from the My Mario series lets you and your child play with Yoshi’s face, making silly expressions. You can stretch, poke, and spin his face together! Plus, tap the question mark block to create items like Super Mushrooms and Super Stars, or even bring enemies onto the screen to play alongside Yoshi.

A playful feature in Hello, Yoshi! lets you play peekaboo with Yoshi himself. Just tap the first icon in the ? Block menu to start. You might even get a surprise visit from Boo, the timid ghost known from other Super Mario adventures!

As a big fan, I think it’s really cool Nintendo added a little feature where Yoshi gets tired and falls asleep after a while. It’s obviously designed to help parents manage how long kids are playing, because even if you keep tapping the screen, Yoshi won’t budge once he’s sleepy! But don’t worry, if you want to keep playing non-stop, you can totally turn that feature off. It’s nice they thought of both sides!

A free game is available just as Mario fans can enjoy a new movie in theaters! Following the success of The Super Mario Bros. Movie in 2023, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie recently premiered, featuring Donald Glover as the voice of Yoshi.
