New Transformers One movie trailer revealed at SDCC 2024 Hasbro panel

As a long-time Transformers fan and avid gamer, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming animated film, “Transformers One.” With its focus on the origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron, this movie promises to delve deeper into the lore that has captivated me since childhood.

As a huge fan, I’m excited to share that in the upcoming installment of the Transformers film series, which follows Michael Bay’s groundbreaking 2007 movie “Transformers,” we’ll journey back to the home planet of these magnificent robots: Cybertron. In this new adventure, titled “Transformers One,” we’ll delve into the captivating origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron. Witness the heart-wrenching turn of events that led to their unbreakable bond being shattered, ultimately resulting in the formation of two distinct factions: the noble Autobots and the treacherous Decepticons.

At San Diego Comic-Con, a fresh trailer for “Transformers One” was unveiled, showcasing not just thrilling action and heartfelt moments, but also an abundance of humor in this animated film that producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura refers to as a “biblical” prequel’s entertaining package.

I’m thoroughly entertained by the hilarious banter between Chris Hemsworth, voice of Orion Pax, and Brian Tyree Henry as D-16. Their friendship-turned-rivalry is a delight to listen to and keeps me chuckling. And let’s not forget about Keegan-Michael Key as B-127, or Bumblebee. His slapstick humor and witty one-liners never fail to bring a smile to my face.

In “Transformers One,” Hemsworth, Henry, and Key are accompanied by Scarlett Johansson as Elita-One, Jon Hamm as Sentinel Prime, Laurence Fishburne as Alpha Trion, and Steve Buscemi in an undisclosed role. Josh Cooley, previously of Pixar, directs the film. The script is written by Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari, who have previous credits on “Ant-Man and the Wasp” and Hulu’s “No Exit.”

Transformers One will hit movie theaters on Sept. 20.
