New Elden Ring Nightreign Everdark boss is all about balance, so it only seems right the Soulslike community is perfectly split on the fight: “This is what he would’ve wanted”

The updated battle with the Everdark Sovereign Equilibrious Beast from Elden Ring‘s Nightreign is now available, and fittingly enough for an adversary symbolizing equilibrium, the player base is evenly split over their opinions of him.

The original, standard form of Libra, Night Creature, is one of Nightreign’s most formidable enemies. He is a boss characterized by Madness, making him particularly challenging to manage due to being one of the harder status effects to control. Furthermore, his disorderly set of moves can quickly devastate a team if handled improperly.

How did FromSoftware enhance his Everdark version, making him more powerful? Besides providing him with additional abilities such as rendering your allies invisible and lowering your level during combat, he’s also capable of summoning numerous Condemned – essentially, menacing duplicates of the Nightfarers that can deal significant damage to you, along with the main boss, transforming the fight into a multi-attacker scenario.

Fans seem to be either appreciating or growing to appreciate the unpredictable nature that this recent battle has introduced. On Reddit, one fan describes it as a “Madness-themed boss fight” and expresses their enjoyment. Another player initially disliked it but later edited their post to reveal they now appreciate it.

One person commented, “This is the first boss in a while that really got my adrenaline pumping. I’m not a fan of ambush bosses, but this one seems more chaotic than unfair.” On the other hand, another player said, “I must admit, it’s my favorite battle so far.

Some people aren’t entirely on board. One person expresses their displeasure by saying, “He’s not a fan of it. He thinks they create clones too frequently,” while another criticizes it as, “The choice seems odd to me. Out of all the intriguing bosses with immense potential (three fingers, body transformation/horror, chaos flame), they opted for the most grating gimmick. It’s not particularly challenging, but it does feel repetitive and frustrating when considering the possibilities for such an anticipated character as the Lord.

Some might find themselves in the middle, expressing it as “it’s equally enjoyable yet challenging,” which seems to be a sentiment many players may share once they’ve grown accustomed to the battle.

Anticipation runs high about the forthcoming Everdark Gladius, given that it’s an upgraded version of the currently easiest Nightlord character in the game. At present, the feelings towards Libra are divided: some players adore him while others can’t stand him. This seems to encapsulate Libra’s essence perfectly, as if he had planned this dichotomy himself.
