While KPop Demon Hunters attracted a large audience, its success extends beyond just viewership. The show is also receiving positive reviews from critics and is now winning awards.
The popular Netflix movie is still generating buzz after receiving nominations for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song at the 98th Academy Awards, and winning both awards at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards.
On Sunday night (February 1st), the movie’s song ‘Golden’ made history at the Grammy Awards, winning the Best Song Written for Visual Media award. This marks the first time a K-pop song has ever received a Grammy Award in nearly 70 years.

It won the award, beating out strong contenders like Sinners, which had three songs up for the prize. Tron: Ares and Elton John: Never Too Late also received nominations.
“Golden” received three Grammy nominations, including Song of the Year, but didn’t win in any of those categories. The film’s complete soundtrack was also nominated, but it lost to Sinners.

I was so excited to hear ‘Golden’ in the film – it’s by this cool group called Huntr/x! I later found out Huntr/x is actually made up of three amazing singers: Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami. They all sound incredible together!
Following the nomination, Nuna spoke of the importance of the nod for the K-pop industry.
Seeing these three Korean actors is incredibly moving, especially when I think about the impact it will have on young viewers. Hopefully, it will inspire them and broaden their sense of what’s possible,” they explained to Variety.
The movie is hoping to follow up its Grammy win with success at the Academy Awards. Currently, it’s the frontrunner to win Best Animated Feature, according to bookmakers, beating out Zootropolis 2.
Much of its success stems from the overwhelmingly positive reviews it received when it was released in June. Currently, 92% of critics on Rotten Tomatoes have given it a positive rating, based on 100 reviews.

I was reading an article on Digital Spy about how well KPop Demon Hunters is doing, and they hit the nail on the head. They said the songs aren’t just tacked on – they’re actually part of the story, just like the best classic Disney songs! It really makes a difference, and it’s a big reason why I’m enjoying it so much.
Reviews for KPop Demon Hunters have been overwhelmingly positive. Bloody Disgusting praised the film’s incredibly catchy music, saying it’s easy to understand why it’s gaining popularity worldwide. Empire Magazine simply called it a “stunning musical treat.”
KPop Demon Hunters is streaming now on Netflix.
I’m so excited! The latest issue of Living Legends, a gorgeous, full-color magazine celebrating Taylor Swift, is finally out! It’s 100 pages long and you can grab a copy at any newsagent or order it online for only £8.99. I’m definitely getting one!
