Will ‘Virgin River’ Return for Season 8?

Just days after its release, viewers are already eager for more of Virgin River and are hoping for a ten-episode continuation. Fortunately, the show’s future on Netflix looks secure. Netflix surprised fans back in July 2025 by renewing the series for an eighth season, and with this renewal, Virgin River officially became Netflix’s longest-running scripted drama.

It will likely be a while before Season 8 of Virgin River appears on Netflix. New seasons usually come out each year, and current predictions point to a Summer 2027 release. However, Netflix hasn’t officially confirmed this date yet.

I totally get why Virgin River keeps going! It’s not trying to reinvent the wheel with fancy filmmaking or groundbreaking stories. But honestly, that’s the best part! It’s just a really easy, comforting show to put on and lose yourself in. It’s perfect for watching while you’re doing something else, and I know I’ve definitely spent many nights just powering through episode after episode. I’ve already finished the newest season, and I’m not ashamed to admit I’m planning a re-watch soon!
