Netflix’s new sci-fi thriller, featuring Alan Ritchson, is no longer performing as well on streaming charts worldwide. It’s nearing the point of disappearing from the global top ten, and has already been removed from the charts in the United States.
I’ve been following the performance of War Machine on Netflix, and it’s been quite a ride! As of April 5, 2026, it’s still hanging in there as the 9th most popular movie worldwide, according to FlixPatrol. Here in the US, it was doing really well, peaking at #5 until April 1st. But things changed quickly – it completely disappeared from the top 10 charts by April 2nd and hasn’t been back since. Globally, it’s not at the top in any country anymore, averaging a ranking of 7.5 with a high of #2 in Egypt. War Machine exploded onto the scene and quickly got over 100 million views, which was amazing, but it looks like its time in the spotlight might be fading.
Reacher’s Alan Ritchson Leads War Machine’s Star-Studded Cast
Despite slipping on Netflix’s global charts, War Machine isn’t lacking in famous faces. The film features a strong cast including Dennis Quaid, Stephan James, Jai Courtney, Esai Morales, Keiynan Lonsdale, and Daniel Webber.
War Machine follows an elite team of soldiers as they train for the challenging U.S. Army Ranger selection process. During what was meant to be their last practice run, an unexpected explosion cuts off all communication. The exercise quickly becomes a desperate fight for survival when the team discovers they’re facing a far more dangerous enemy than they anticipated.
The movie War Machine was well-received by both critics and viewers, blending science fiction and action elements. It earned a 66% audience score, with many praising it as a great showcase for Jack Ritchson’s action hero charisma. While the film’s plot follows a familiar formula, its action sequences are highly impressive.
Ritchson & Co-Stars are Ready for a War Machine Sequel
After the release of War Machine, Mike Ritchson and the other actors quickly said they’d be interested in making a sequel. Director Patrick Hughes explained the movie was designed to be a complete story on its own, but the ending does suggest possibilities for future films. However, there hasn’t been an official confirmation of a follow-up yet.
Esai Morales, who played Torres in the movie, shared his thoughts on where a sequel could go. He’s hoping for more action, and would be excited to be involved in it, noting that the film’s ending leaves plenty of room for it. He also expressed interest in exploring how his character has grown from his past experiences.
War Machine is now streaming on Netflix.
