Netflix has become a key part of the Jurassic Park story, expanding on the recent Jurassic World films with a new series. This series features familiar actors and ties into the trilogy starring Chris Pratt. While the Jurassic Park franchise is already considered a classic, this new series proves there’s still plenty of exciting stories to tell beyond the big screen.
I have to admit, a huge part of what makes those dinosaur movies so amazing is the incredible special effects – seeing those creatures come to life on the big screen is just awesome. But after so many years, it’s really cool how they’ve started telling longer stories. It’s a great way to keep the franchise exciting, and I think the new series on Netflix is really helping them do that.
Glen Powell’s Jurassic World Series On Netflix Has No Bad Seasons
Although a live-action Jurassic Park series is reportedly in the works, it hasn’t been officially confirmed. However, the franchise already has two animated series on Netflix, and the first one demonstrated that there’s a lot of exciting potential for dinosaur stories in animated form.
Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous premiered on Netflix on September 18, 2020, and ran for five seasons, concluding on July 21, 2022. Remarkably, every season of the animated series was well-received. The first season particularly stands out, successfully building on the original Jurassic World film while establishing its own unique setting within the franchise.
Once the initial setup is done, the story follows six teenagers stranded on Isla Nublar, showing their struggle to find a way back home. “Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous” features fully developed characters, lively animation, an engaging plot, ties to the “Jurassic World” films starring Chris Pratt, and well-known actors like Glen Powell and Jenna Ortega.
Thinking about watching the Jurassic Park series? Camp Cretaceous is really well-received, earning a 92% approval rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. Plus, every episode across all seasons has a solid rating – none are below 6.1 on IMDB, and most score above a 7. You really can’t go wrong with any season!
Camp Cretaceous Is So Good That Netflix Released A Sequel Series In No Time
Following the popularity of Camp Cretaceous, Netflix created a sequel called Jurassic World: Chaos Theory. This new series features the original group of characters, now as young adults, six years later. Chaos Theory picks up the story with a more mature and action-packed adventure that takes them around the world. It premiered on Netflix on May 24, 2024, only two years after Camp Cretaceous finished its run.
The follow-up series has concluded, with the fourth and final season of Chaos Theory debuting on Netflix on November 20, 2025. Similar to the first series, it proved popular with viewers, earning a 92% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Fans of the Jurassic Park franchise should enjoy watching both shows on Netflix.
