NASCAR: Bubba Wallace urges fans to help as 'every penny makes a difference'

As a seasoned gamer who’s spent countless hours racing through virtual tracks, I must say that Bubba Wallace‘s real-life journey is as inspiring as any video game hero. His dedication to giving back and his unwavering partnership with McDonald’s, a brand that’s been a staple in my gaming life, truly resonates with me.

McDonald’s is marking the 50-year milestone of its association with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), an independent U.S.-based charitable organization, by donating under the banner of “Gifts to RMHC.” The aim of this organization is to establish, identify, and support initiatives that directly enhance the health and welfare of children.

McDonald’s is partnering with influential figures like Bubba Wallace from 213XI Racing in NASCAR, inviting its numerous customers across the country to contribute to a good cause by adding the change from their upcoming McDonald’s order to a round sum when they pay.

In the previous year, our team, including myself here in Charlotte and also in Texas, spent time at Ronald McDonald Houses. We didn’t have any specific agendas; we simply wanted to interact with the children and their families. We prepared some meals for them and just enjoyed some quality time together, aiming to distract them from their daily struggles. This was shared with Beyond the Flag by Wallace.

Wallace is set to run a custom paint scheme on his No. 23 Toyota in next Sunday afternoon’s Cup Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

1) Design elements for the Straight Talk Wireless 400 have been created by families from RHMC in South Florida, and Wallace intends to display a logo on his fire suit in celebration of its 50th anniversary. Furthermore, he aims to feature the name of an RMHC family from Alabama on the driver’s side decal of his race car.

“That time with RMHC really stuck with me, so as a member of the McDonald’s family, I’m glad to be back and celebrating 50 years of the partnership,” Wallace continued.

I’ve recently had a unique paint scheme for my No. 23 Toyota designed by local families from the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of South Florida. This fresh design will be showcased in the upcoming race at Homestead next week. Additionally, I’ll be honoring an RMHC family from my home state of Alabama by displaying their name on the side of my vehicle.

Approximately 25 million individuals are fed daily at McDonald’s locations across the U.S., representing about 7.5% of the country’s total population. Wallace is urging these patrons to join the “Gift to RMHC” movement.

Wallace invited, “You can join us in our celebration as well! Consider adding the change from your next McDonald’s purchase, rounding up to the nearest whole dollar, as a ‘Gift to RMHC.’ Every little bit counts and truly matters.

Even if everyone gives only a single cent, that’s still $250,000 per day.

Throughout his entire professional racing career, which began with Richard Petty Motorsports in 2018, Wallace has been proudly associated with McDonald’s. He feels honored to serve as a representative of this globally recognized fast-food giant.

Wallace expressed that McDonald’s has been a constant companion throughout his journey. They were there for both his initial victory at Talladega and his first pole position in the Cup Series. This lasting partnership carries significant weight for him as they share similar values and commitments to being good individuals, aiming for the greater good.

Bubba Wallace talks Grimace

Previously, Wallace has applied the McDonald’s Grimace livery numerous times. Recently, he was queried regarding the continuous Grimace motif with the New York Mets, whose performance improved significantly following the famous mascot’s pitch at the beginning of June.

Initially struggling with a record of 28-37, placing them as the 13th out of 15 teams in the National League, the Mets then went on to achieve the best record in Major League Baseball for the remainder of the season at 61-36. This impressive turnaround led them to secure a playoff spot as the NL’s sixth seed. They defeated the Milwaukee Brewers (third seed) and Philadelphia Phillies (second seed), and are now facing the top-seeded Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series.

Wallace remarked, “Baseball isn’t my thing, but Grimace is truly popular.” He continued, “There have been several strategies featuring Grimace in our races, so it doesn’t surprise me to see him admired by fans and the crowd alike.

Although Wallace’s performance at Iowa Speedway in June, following closely on the heels of an extraordinary Mets game, failed to revive his season and secure a spot in the playoffs for him, he remains optimistic about the possibility of making a significant post-season run in 2025.

Wallace expressed that he aims to start fresh with every new season. He has grown significantly as part of this team, but he makes an effort not to dwell on past experiences with each changing season. Daytona signifies a new year and a clean slate where he can strive once more for the playoffs, aiming for victories.
