Monster Hunter Wilds on Switch 2: Is It Happening?
Fans of Monster Hunter have often encountered the restrictions of the original Nintendo Switch. Experiencing Monster Hunter Rise on the Switch felt much like attempting to house a powerful dragon within a tiny birdcage, with far too many concessions made.
Capcom openly acknowledged that their game, World, was beyond the capabilities of the initial Nintendo Switch, due to limitations in its hardware, which is why it wasn’t released for that particular platform.
However, the upcoming Switch 2 is expected to outshine its previous version in terms of size, boasting the power to run a more complex Monster Hunter title.
Monster Hunter Wilds Switch port rumors
There’s still a chance that Monster Hunter Rise, or a similar game in the series, might be ported to the Nintendo Switch 2.
During an interview with Game Reactor, the producer, Ryozo Tsujimoto, hinted at a response that seemed more like a thoughtfully cryptic “perhaps.
When inquired about whether Monster Hunter Worlds will be available on Nintendo’s upcoming console, Tsujimoto stated: “Absolutely, we don’t have any additional information to share beyond what’s currently known.
Tsujimoto clarified that Capcom is taking a cautious approach to fully grasp the capabilities of the new hardware, particularly focusing on finding the optimal way to utilize its power. Essentially, this means they’re adopting a strategy of “watching and learning.
Tsujimoto’s careful words ignited hope amongst Metroid Prime enthusiasts, as one fan interpreted it as, “He’s hinting at ‘We have an idea of what Switch 2 is capable of, and we’ll reveal more when we’re allowed to.’
In other words, until we get more information during the next Nintendo Direct scheduled for April 12, or potentially when the new console becomes available worldwide, it remains uncertain. However, Monster Hunter World (MHW) is indeed slated for launch on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.
During its beta phase, the open beta for Monster Hunter Wilds saw exceptional performance. It reached a peak of 463,798 simultaneous players on Steam, making it one of the most popular games being played at that time.
The game surpassed giants such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 in sales, demonstrating that the Monster Hunter series remains highly influential. Its triumphant reception suggests a bright future for the game, regardless of whether it’s released on Switch 2 or not.
