Monster Hunter Wilds is getting new endgame content early, but fans are still begging for better optimization as “Overwhelmingly Negative” recent Steam reviews persist

Monster Hunter Wilds will roll out its planned endgame expansion earlier than anticipated, with Capcom revealing that the update, initially slated for late September, is now expected to drop next month. While this early release has some players excited, there’s a mix of feelings among fans due to ongoing concerns about optimization issues that have yet to be fully addressed.

On the Monster Hunter’s official Twitter post, they announced that the upcoming Version 1.021 update, scheduled for August 13, will introduce fresh endgame content. This includes a hike in quest difficulty, a new rewards system for specific quests offering Talismans with random skill combinations, as well as improvements, adjustments, and weapon balance changes, affecting more weapons than initially planned.

Despite all the positive aspects, none of them tackle the primary concerns that have led to the “Overwhelmingly Negative” Steam reviews for the action RPG. The main issues revolve around its performance and optimization. Although Capcom made a recent update last month to fix a problem where shader compilation during gameplay caused high CPU load and unstable performance, this did not fully resolve the problems for many players.

One fan simply requests, “Could you please improve the performance?” in response to the recent news update. “Thrilled about the upcoming quest levels and incentives, but honestly, when can we expect the performance upgrade? The game could really use it!” another fan inquires. On the other hand, another supporter advocates, “Performance overhaul should be given top priority [to be honest] before any additional content is introduced.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but remind myself that there’s always room for improvement in the game we love. And while it’s uncertain if the performance will get a boost next month, it’s definitely within the realm of possibilities under the category of “improvements and adjustments.”

After experiencing months of challenges, I can understand why players might feel apprehensive. All we can do is keep our fingers crossed that Capcom addresses these concerns swiftly, making our gaming experience even better!
