Capcom has hinted that the iconic monster Lagiacrus from their series might show up in Monster Hunter Wilds towards the end of 2025. Given the massive success of Monster Hunter Wilds, it’s reasonable to expect that Capcom will continue supporting the game for a while, and Lagiacrus could be one of the original monsters returning in the beloved action RPG.
Launched in February, “Monster Hunter Wilds” set a record as Capcom’s fastest-selling game to date, with sales exceeding eight million units within just three days. Despite some gamers claiming it was too simple, the game garnered praise from many critics, averaging a score of 89 on OpenCritic.
The continued popularity of Monster Hunter Wilds guarantees its updates for some time, with hints about future updates revealed in the game’s Title Update 1 trailer. Towards the end of this trailer, a monster that looks like it could be Lagiacrus, a sea dragon-like creature inspired by leviathans and known for its ability to shoot electricity, makes an appearance. Although it is shown in the trailer, this monster isn’t anticipated for the following update, instead likely appearing in Title Update 2. First introduced in Monster Hunter 3, Lagiacrus quickly gained a loyal fanbase. Initially, Capcom aimed to include Lagiacrus in Monster Hunter World, but reported difficulties with animations led them to abandon this plan.
Monster Hunter Wilds Teases Lagiacrus in Title Update 1 Trailer
April 4th marks the arrival of Title Update 1 for Monster Hunter Wilds, a world I’ve been eagerly anticipating! This exciting update brings about a Grand Hub, a dynamic space where fellow hunters can engage in interactive activities such as crafting items, participating in mini-games, and much more. But that’s not all, a new formidable foe, Mizutsune, is set to join the game roster! This water-wielding monster, who made its debut in Monster Hunter Rise, has been causing quite a splash among players like myself. I can hardly wait to take on this aquatic adversary!
In a recent update, creators of “Monster Hunter Wilds” have revealed their schedule for upcoming Event and Challenge Quests. From March 19 to April 1, players can participate in the “Like a Fire Hidden by Sand” event, while “Congalala Cravings” runs from March 26 to April 1. In the month of April, four more events will be available: “Anguish and Atrocity,” “King of a Faraway Sky,” “When Do Quematrice Sing,” and “Doshaguma of the Hollow.” It remains uncertain if “Monster Hunter Wilds” will maintain its popularity throughout 2025, but it seems that developer Capcom is making efforts to keep the game engaging for players.
