For the first time in this series, players can now equip and swap between two weapons while on a hunt. This fresh feature is linked to your faithful companion, Seikrat, who not only provides support during risky situations but also lets you carry an extra weapon and change between them freely.

Changing between your main and backup weapons provides a more adaptable and thrilling method for confronting monsters, improving the hunting adventure. For instance, you can strategically choose different weapons depending on the circumstance and the monster’s vulnerabilities. Furthermore, this functionality enables players to have a wider array of weapon choices during multiplayer hunts. This tutorial will show you how to arm and alternate weapons in Monster Hunter Wildspur.

How To Equip Primary and Secondary Weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds? 

Although the mid-combat weapon swap option offers a significant advantage, it won’t be accessible immediately. Instead, you’ll get a unique saddle during the second major mission called “Village of Whispering Winds,” which occurs after successfully vanquishing Quematrice, that enables you to carry your secondary weapon during battles.

To set up your primary and secondary weapons, follow these steps:

  • Enter your Tent at the base or pop-up camps. 
  • Look for the ‘Change Equipment’ option. 
  • This will display your primary and secondary weapons, along with other gear such as helmets, chest armor, armguards, waist gear, and leg armor.
  • Choose your primary and secondary weapons from the 14 available weapon types.
  • You will carry your primary weapon along with you, while the secondary weapon will be placed in Seikret’s saddle. 

How To Swap Weapons Mid-Battle in Monster Hunter Wilds?

1. Primary Weapon Switch: To wield your primary weapon, simply press the ‘1’ key on your keyboard or the left bumper on your controller.

2. Secondary Weapon Switch: If you need to quickly grab your secondary weapon, just press the ‘2’ key on your keyboard or the right bumper on your controller.

  • This will automatically prompt your hunter to mount Seikret and swap the other weapon from the saddle.
