Lala Barina in Monster Hunter Wilds: Overview
Lala Barina is the latest addition to the Temnoceran-type monsters, similar to Nerscylla and Rakna-Kadaki. At first sight, it appears as a six-legged spider, but upon closer inspection, it presents a hidden danger – a soft, rosy red core within. This part becomes visible when the monster releases florets. Although these florets may seem captivating, beware! If they touch you, they can cause paralysis.
How To Unlock Lala Barina
Initially, you’ll meet Lala Barina during the main quest “Forest Findings” in Chapter 1-3. As you delve into Area 4 of the Forest, look for her hidden in a cave. After it has been unlocked, you can locate her in both the Scarlet Forest and the Ruins of Wyveria.
Where To Find Lala Barina
In forest locations only, you’ll find Lala Barina. Look out for fields filled with red blossoms or silky petals as a sign it’s nearby. You’ll get an alert when Lala Barina becomes accessible in these regions. Consult the Environment Overview map and start your tracking quest to discover where Lala Barina is hiding.
Possible Turf Wars for Lala Barina
Lala Barina has possible turf wars against the following monsters:
- Doshaguma
- Yian Kut-Ku
- Congalala
- Arkveld
- Uth Duna
Lala Barina Weaknesses
In the upcoming fight with Lala Barina, it’s wise to focus on fire-based attacks since she’s vulnerable to them. Prey on a Quematrice beforehand to craft a weapon that specializes in fire damage, giving you an edge in the battle. It’s advisable to steer clear of water-based attacks as Lala Barina exhibits high resistance towards this element.
As a devoted enthusiast, I’d like to share an interesting observation about status ailments in this game we both love. You see, all ailments can deal damage to the monsters, but

Lala Barina Weak Points
As a devoted admirer, I’ve come to realize that Lala Barina’s delicate tail and petals are its vulnerable spots, sustaining more damage when struck. Yet, due to their elusive nature, it can be tricky to land blows on these specific areas. A clever strategy would be to first weaken the monster by attacking its robust limbs, which will create an opening for potent strikes against the tail and petals. Interestingly, while both Blunt and Sever are efficient against Lala Barina, it’s worth noting that Severing attacks on the petals seem to have a more substantial effect.
Best Weapons for Lala Barina in Monster Hunter Wilds
Because Lala Barina’s nimbleness makes her well-suited for weapons that are highly mobile, such as a Sword and Shield or Dual Blades, could be an excellent choice when facing the monster. These weapons also enable you to knock down the monster by targeting its limbs while skillfully dodging incoming attacks.
If you’re looking to increase your strength, think about wielding the Long Sword or Hammer. They are particularly potent against Lala Barina, as they can repeatedly stun it by targeting its head with heavy blows. This repeated staggering provides an excellent opportunity for you to launch powerful charged attacks on its vulnerable spots.
Items To Carry for the Battle
Carrying the following items can give you the upper hand in the battle with Lala Barina:
- Mega Potions
- Flash Pod
- Shock Trap
- Pitfall Trap
- Tranq Bombs (For Capture)
How To Beat Lala Barina in Monster Hunter Wilds
As a gamer, I often encounter a creature known as Lala Barina, resembling a spider in some twisted way. Unlike other Temnoceran beasts, this one prefers to engage in brawls rather than spinning webs. It’s all about the physical confrontations for it – swiping its claws and slamming into the ground with a thud. The damage might be minimal, but the attacks are predictable enough to dodge if you keep your wits about you.
Keep in mind that it has a potent sting and strike ability, dealing much more damage than usual. As you aim for the tail and back petals, stay vigilant against unexpected stings. If Lala Barina elevates its tail, swiftly move out of harm’s way.
Watch out for Lala Barina’s dangerous bloom, as it releases florets from its petals when it attacks. These florets can cause paralysis, making you susceptible to further assaults. Moreover, it spins and scatters florets by hanging from the ceiling, thereby spreading the paralyzing substance over a larger area. In an agitated state, Lala Barina reveals its red, abdomen-like bloom and tends to launch more frequent jump attacks.
Tips To Defeat Lala Barina
- Equipping Paralysis Resistance armor should be a great option against Lala Barina. Create a Vespoid armor by hunting some Vespoids, which offer some Paralysis Resistance. You can also use Lala Barina’s own armor when you have already defeated it, enhancing your Paralysis Resistance.
- You can break its Petals and Claws to weaken the monster and reduce its attacking potential.
- Whenever possible, use your Shock Trap and Pitfall Trap to immobilize the monster, allowing you to strike its weak points or break its parts.
- While you can shoot the florets with a Bowgun or Bow to stop them, this can be risky. It’s always safer to dodge them instead.
