Monster Hunter Wilds Gravios Guide – Location, Drops, and Weaknesses
In the game “Monster Hunter Wilds“, the Gravios makes its comeback, featuring some new attack patterns and exuding a far more intimidating aura. This colossal Wyvern sports a shell reminiscent of a boulder and hides several surprises up its sleeve.
In Monster Hunter World, defeating a Gravios might not be the most challenging feat, but for novice players encountering it for the first time, it could pose a few difficulties. This guide will focus on the key vulnerabilities of this monster, offer some crucial tips for locating one, and discuss the potential rewards you’ll reap from engaging in combat with it.
MH Wilds: Gravios Location and Weaknesses
Gravios typically emerge in the heart of the Oilwell Basin within MH Wilds. Since this place is scorching hot, your hunter will feel the impact, so remember to carry some Cool Drinks or stock up on them, or utilize the Adaptability armor skill to counteract the passive health drain caused by the heat.
If you’re wielding a close-combat weapon, try to target its midsection. The Gravios’ protective plates over its belly will crack under enough assault, revealing its vulnerable areas. This is distinct from a Wound – once the Gravios’ belly breaks during a hunt, it stays broken for the remainder of the encounter.
For those who hunt at a distance, focus on hitting the animal’s head, body (or chest), and rear end (tail area). The belly can be targeted as well, but if you’re not using Penetrating Ammo/Coatings, it’s advisable to aim for something else instead.

The underside of the Gravios’ tail is vulnerable too, but if you’re wielding a big, sword-like weapon such as the Long Sword or Greatsword, it’s wise to target the tail length initially. This tactic grants an additional carve for everyone involved, and it also diminishes the power of the Gravios’ tail sweeps.
Against Gravios, both persistent injuries (Status Ailments) and Flash Pods, Shock Traps, and Pitfall Traps have proven to be highly effective.
Attacks to Watch For
When striking a Gravios’ stomach, it might occasionally emit either white or purple fumes. The white gas can cause you to fall asleep, making you susceptible to the Gravios’ potent beam attacks that follow a slow pace. On the other hand, the purple gas is harmful and should be avoided. While managing the poison might be inconvenient, ensure you dodge the sleep gas since it leaves you exposed to the Gravios’ powerful beam assaults.
When fighting a Gravious, bring an Energy Drink to cleanse the Sleep status.
MH Wilds: Gravios Rewards

When players defeat or subdue a Gravios, they’ll find the typical assortment of related monster components such as Inferno Sacs, Sleep Sacs, and valuable Wyvern Gems – items that can be utilized in various ways.
Remember, when hunting Gravios for particular components, it’s crucial to target and destroy specific areas of the monster to boost your chances of obtaining the desired pieces. Valuable Gravios components include:
