Monster Hunter Wilds Crown Farming Guide – Gold Crown, Silver Crown, and Miniature Crown Monsters
In Monster Hunter Wilds, it’s simpler than previous games to collect crowns. If you’ve striven for 100% completion or the Platinum Trophy in Monster Hunter World and Iceborne, you’re aware of the time required to obtain all the crown-related trophies and achievements. Monster Hunter Wilds has seven trophies associated with crowns, but if you’re new, you might wonder what a crown monster is. This guide will explain how to use binoculars to spot a crown monster, define what a crown monster is, and discuss why farming crown monsters could be beneficial. However, be aware that this guide may contain spoilers regarding monsters and endgame mechanics.
What are crown monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds
Creatures that significantly deviate from their typical size range are referred to as “crown monsters.” For instance, the screenshot above showcases a tempered Chactacabra as an example of a crown monster.
What is the difference between a gold crown and a silver crown monster in Monster Hunter Wilds
In contrast, silver crowns tend to be either slightly smaller or larger compared to the standard size, whereas gold crowns deviate significantly – being either bigger or smaller from the typical size for these mythical creatures. However, as illustrated in the image provided, the Rathian does not belong to the category of ‘crown monsters’.
How to spot a crown monster in Monster Hunter Wilds
In the games Monster Hunter World and Iceborne, we often had to guess whether a certain monster was a “crown” monster based on its physical size and our own estimates. However, in Monster Hunter Wilds, identifying a “crown” monster has become much simpler. By using binoculars, you can zoom into a large monster on the map to determine if it is indeed a “crown” monster. This is indicated by an icon for easy recognition.
How to use the binoculars in Monster Hunter Wilds to find a crown monster
To put on your binoculars, navigate to them using your inventory or radial menu. For PlayStation users, press the Square button, while Xbox players should press X. Once equipped, control the camera with the right analog stick. You can adjust the zoom by using the trigger buttons.

Monster Hunter Wilds crown farming Event Quests
It seems highly probable that future events for Capcom’s Monster Hunter: Wilds will feature multi-monster hunts, potentially involving crown monsters. Historically, this has been a common element in the game. However, it remains unclear whether we can expect crown Event Quests at launch or much later on.
Monster Hunter Wilds has just been released globally for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and personal computers via Steam. You can find all our Monster Hunter Wilds guide resources right here.
