Monster Hunter Wilds’ collab with Final Fantasy 14 looks like a neat way to do some digital cosplay

Capcom and Square Enix previously revealed a collaboration between Monster Hunter Wilds and Final Fantasy XIV, and today we got a detailed look at the collaboration content for Monster Hunter Wilds. This content will be included in the game’s third major update, which also features other additions, but the Final Fantasy elements are the biggest highlight. Let’s take a look at what’s coming!

The game will feature cosmetic options inspired by Final Fantasy 14 jobs. First, players can unlock the Dark Knight, complete with a large greatsword and a unique action when wearing the full armor set. We’re also adding the Pictomancer, a more recent job from Final Fantasy 14, which allows players to use various pictomancy spells – it’s almost like dressing up as the character!

Monster Hunter Wilds – Free Title Update 3: Final Fantasy XIV Special Collaboration

This update introduces Omega Planetes, a unique enemy inspired by the world of Final Fantasy XIV and its Magitek technology. It will even feature gameplay elements from the popular MMO! Plus, you’ll be able to travel on a Chocobo instead of a Seikret, and you might even spot Cactuar along the way, striking its iconic pose.

Starting October 22nd and lasting until October 29th, a special event quest will feature Arch-tempered Nu-Udra, offering players a chance to earn some impressive, fiery armor. The Grand Hub will also be decorated for Halloween! The trailer ended with a preview of Title Update Four, introducing Gogmazios – a powerful, volcano-themed monster with a fantastic name.

The next big update, title update three, will be released on September 29th. We’re also planning another update, title update four, for sometime in December.
