Additionally, Monster Hunter Wilds has claimed the top spot among Steam’s highest-grossing titles in terms of revenue upon its release. Interestingly, Monster Hunter World, which joined Valve’s platform more than six months after its console debut, never managed to reach a concurrent player count as high as 1,305,812 during its peak popularity, peaking at only 334.6K players.

This theory is further supported by Capcom’s latest release holding the fourth spot among the top 10 games on the US PS Store, demonstrating its widespread appeal.

The rapid success of Monster Hunter Wilds on Steam is undeniably notable, yet it’s challenging to use the same term for its reviews on the platform. Currently, it holds a “Mixed” overall rating, based on evaluations from 9,017 players. Interestingly, only about 47% of these player reviews are favorable, apparently due to some optimization problems that have been pointed out by those who gave it a negative rating. As the developers of Monster Hunter Wilds typically address such issues through regular updates, there’s a chance that the game’s Steam rating may enhance in the future.
