Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection Gets New Trailer, Out on March 13, 2026

Capcom recently shared a new trailer for the upcoming turn-based RPG titled “Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection”. This trailer offers insights into the game’s narrative themes while also showcasing some of the gameplay. The unveiling occurred during the latest Nintendo Direct, and it has been confirmed that the RPG will launch on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and a yet-to-be-released Nintendo Switch 2 on March 13, 2026.

Based on the recently released trailer, it appears that Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection will further develop the robust gameplay mechanics established by its predecessors within the series. The combat system is set to put players in the role of a Rider, where they’ll join forces with their Monster companions, colloquially known as “Monsties” – a blend of the words Monster and Besties – to confront various challenges together.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that in this new Monster Hunter experience, the player character will wield familiar tools and weapons, reminiscent of classic Monster Hunter games. These include armors and weapons crafted from vanquished monsters, known as Monsties. However, unlike the player characters, Monsties possess a unique move set that emphasizes their elemental strengths and weaknesses. There’s also a strategic rock-paper-scissors system of three move types, where each type can counter the other. This adds an extra layer of excitement to the battles!

In Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, the narrative seems to center around the emergence of twin Rathalos and how their actions shape the destiny of the world. This unfolds two centuries after a significant conflict disrupted neighboring realms. The appearance of these twin Rathalos, once believed extinct, hatches from a single egg, causing widespread fear because it’s seen as an ominous sign portending the end of the world.

The third installment in the Monster Hunter Stories series, titled “Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection,” was initially unveiled during a Nintendo Direct broadcast in July. The trailer for this upcoming turn-based RPG offered our first glimpse into its main plot, and it further confirmed that the game would maintain the bright and captivating visual style that characterizes the Monster Hunter Stories franchise.

As a dedicated Monster Hunter fan, I’ve been eagerly awaiting the latest addition to the franchise, “Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin.” This time around, we find ourselves in an intriguing narrative centered around a benevolent Rathalos, a rare sight that has garnered attention from various factions worldwide.

What sets this installment apart is the matured cast of characters, suggesting a more grown-up storyline compared to the whimsical tales we’ve experienced in the first two games. It’s an exciting prospect for those of us who appreciate a deeper, more emotionally resonant gaming experience.
