Kenji Oguro, the director of *Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection*, recently appeared on the Capcom Tokyo Game Show 2025 Online Special Program to discuss the game’s story and how it will play.

The story takes place in a world where a strange environmental event is causing conflict between the kingdoms of Azuria and Vermeil. Players take on the role of Rangers, investigating a mysterious new material called Egg Quartz that has appeared with the spreading Crystal Encroachment. They’ll encounter creatures like the Chatacabra and Rey Dau, all while trying to find and protect rare monsters and heal the damaged land.

Players will be able to explore the expansive world of Monster Hunter by riding monsters – climbing on their backs and even flying through the air! This riding ability isn’t just for travel; it also adds new options to combat, letting you launch powerful attacks at the start of a fight. You’ll have more strategic choices than ever before, including the ability to build up to a Synchro Rush, a massive team attack. With more challenging battles and grander adventures, riding monsters is now more exciting than ever!

I’m so excited! Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is finally coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC through Steam on March 13, 2026. I’ve been waiting for this!
