Eric Stonestreet played Cameron Tucker throughout all 11 seasons of Modern Family, from 2009 to 2020, and won two Emmy Awards for his work. Viewers loved watching him and his husband, Mitchell, raise their adopted daughter, who quickly became known for her confidence and wit. He adored dressing Lily up as all these amazing female singers, he was a huge theater and movie buff, and he’d belt out these incredible high notes whenever he got upset – and he just didn’t care what anyone thought! There was even this running gag where he’d run with his hands all over the place, and Mitchell would always have to yell, ‘Hands!’ It was such a sweet, funny dynamic.

Cam definitely had a flair for the dramatic – in fact, he was the drama. Despite being very self-assured, he was surprisingly sensitive about things like his looks and weight. Remember his huge reaction when Claire and Mitchell said bike shorts weren’t flattering? Or when he went on a diet and nearly lost it at Mitchell’s boss’s house? Cam always went all-in on everything, almost as if he wanted Mitchell – or anyone else – to prove him wrong.

Cam had a remarkable ability to brighten the lives of those around him. Though not a blood relative, he was a devoted uncle figure to Haley, Alex, Luke, and Manny. He taught the entire Pritchett family to find joy in everyday life and not get bogged down by minor frustrations. He believed everyone needed balance – as he often said, dreamers and realists complete each other. Dreamers need realists to keep them grounded, while realists need dreamers to inspire them to reach for more.
